Well I am taking the Tremor in for rust proofing at 3 today .After talking to the manager at Krown I decided to pull all the underbody protection off. So this is a count it you are thinking of doing this . 52 bolts and nuts-5 panels made of 3 deferent materials - one wheel and tire . If you do not remove all this stuff I do not think it would be worth doing rust protection . Probably 80 percent of the vehicle is covered . Also I would recommend everyone should do a test run of removing the spare tire ,its not that easy . And you probable do not want to learn how to do it in bad weather on the side of a road .

I have never had this done. I would have thought any reputable place doing rust proofing would remove that themselves. Is that not the case? Or were they going to charge you to have them remove it?

They will not do it . They are not mechanics ,and not qualified to do this work .Maybe if you had the Ford dealer do the rust proofing ,they may . but I would ask them to make sure .

Sounds like you are going to a questionable place to me. You definitely don't need to be a mechanic to remove some skid plates and a spare tire.

Well they have been in the same location for over 30 years . There waiting list right now is 5 weeks .And when I just picked up my truck ,he said they are doing 20 to 30 vehicles a day . But if you owned this shop ,would you let your employees start pulling apart peoples brand new vehicles ? I guess there may be some shops that will do it ,but this one will not . This is all they do ,only rust proofing . Maybe a do it all shop would be better for some people . To be clear ,if you leave the panels on .They will still get behind them and spray . Its just if you remove them ,they can do a much better job. That is just my view .
