I just pulled the back of the headliner down a little at the rear window and went in blind with my hand. Wear a long-sleeved shirt to prevent cutting your forearm. You can find the clip by feel and if you already fished the new one in it is a quick switch. Didn't take more than a few minutes. Then put the headliner back. Didn't need to remove anything inside to pop it down a little.

Yea I was worried about breaking any retaining clips the headliner might have. It all worked out in the end.
