I have a 2023 Lariat hybrid that I ordered over a year ago that never got scheduled.... Dealer rolled it over as a 2024 order and it was scheduled for production pretty quickly, It is supposed to be built the week of Oct 23rd.
Of course the MSRP has gone up on these trucks, but according to what I have read here and on FB groups, there is supposed to be a private offer from Ford for these orders that helps bring the price of the 24 models inline with the pricing of the 23 model that was originally ordered.
Called the dealer yesterday to confirm that and make sure I won't have any surprises come November when I expect to take delivery of the truck, and my salesman had no clue or knowledge of any private offer rebates. I asked him to talk to the sales manager to see if they knew anything about it and he calls me back and says no one at the dealer knows anything about it.
So I googled Fords customer service number and gave them a call. First time Ive called them and to be honest, the lady that took my call there was awesome. Probably the best experience I have ever had calling " Customer Service " ever in my lifetime. She was super helpful, spoke with clear english, and mid conversation I accidentally hung up on her and she called me back...
Anyways, in our conversation once I gave her my name and order number, she was able to tell me exactly what day my truck is supposed to be built and she was able to provide me with the actual certificate number for that private offer rebate, along with a number code that insures price protection and some sort of interest rate lock that I could use if I need to.
in my case, while actually on the phone with Ford, my salesman called me back and left me a message that after further discussion with the management there they ARE aware of the private offer rebates and it was a misunderstanding because I was using terminology they typically would not use.... ( I called it a private offer rebate and even sent him a screenshot of the document that was posted here showing the amounts based on when the order was placed and what trim, so not sure how that is hard to understand... ), But in the case that they still wanted to play dumb or were truly ignorant of this offer, Ford customer service was able to provide me what I needed to bring to the dealer when the time comes to take delivery so everything should go smoothly.
I recommend that if you have a 22-23 order that wasn't built and is scheduled now as a 2024, to call your dealer and get confirmation that they are aware of this private offer rebate and if they aren't, you might want to call Fords customer service and Ford can give you the actual certificate number and so on so you can provide that to your dealer.
Nothing is more frustrating than showing up at the dealer after a long wait for the vehicle you ordered, only to be told things you were expecting aren't going to go down as expected. I ordered a 2022 Super duty in dec 2021 and when the truck was built and showed up in spring of 22, I showed up to pick it up and was aware that the MSRP had gone up. I THOUGHT there was " price protection " and my price would be what it was when I ordered. The dealer said no and based my sale on the pricing on the window sticker. Had I called Fords customer service even while at the dealer, I could have got the info I needed to get my dealer to honor that price protection. So with this private cash offer thing on the mavericks I wanted to have my ducks in a row early...
