Got my truck (XLT hybrid) Wednesday, so today I took a drive from the San Diego 'burbs (565' elevation) over the mountains (4400' at Julian CA) and back down to about 500' in the desert near Borrego Springs, about 65 miles each way. Winding 2-lane highway all the way; no traffic to speak of, very few stop lights.
It got over 44 mpg on the way out and 41 on the return trip. (Per the dash display, actual probably 10% less but still!)
I am amazed how quiet it is. My buddy came with me and said it was quieter than his Tesla.
It handled fine on the twisties - not too much understeer. With the electric power steering there's less feedback than my Mazda 6 so not quite as fun (no surprise!) but it is worlds better than my Honda CR-V.
And the Cactus Gray looked good in the desert sunlight.
So far, so good ...
