You can buy from any dealer in the country. There is no monopoly because one dealer is greedy. Buy anywhere you find a good deal and use the extra money to fly one way to pick it up and drive it home.
I live northeast of Nashville and I have hauled some bulky and some heavy loads on and off road in my XLT with FX4. I bought this truck to haul wood for my woodturning plus have a comfortable daily driver. After one week it has proven to be great at both jobs.

I ordered my cactus grey CLT in September and picked it up January 7th. The color definitely is different in different light. Low sun makes it a dull green, but direct sun is more light grey. The color always gets compliments from people who look at the truck.
Update: I picked up the truck today 1/7. It arrived on 1/5 just in time for the blizzard to hit. It was 10 days early so hang in there you might get lucky too.
I ordered mine September 14th and picked it up today. In that time I have seen one in Area 51 blue with South Carolina tags in Huntsville, AL. I live near Nashville! That's it.ine is the first one I ever sat in and drove.
That's cool. At least you've based your opinion on ownership. We are on our 6th Subie since the 1980 BRAT. My sone has a Lagacy GT turbo wagon and my daughter just got an Outback Wilderness. We like the Subies just fine. I'm also a Ford guy.
