Has anyone had luck with pulling the roof rail trim pieces off and installing fixed point roof rack mounts? My plan is to remove the black roof trims, install the U-channel mounting points (4) and then notch out the roof rail trims strips to allow the fixed points to poke through.
Any thoughts on this? These pictures are from my Honda CR-V . Iām thinking of taking off the roof trim on the Maverick and bolting these aluminum channels to the roof seam. Then cut openings in the roof moulding for the landing pads to stick through. Seems like a stronger anchor point and...

Iām about a week out from my Lariat showing upā¦..and still without a good solution for tonneau cover with a rack. Really need a hard cover to protect contents with ability to put a rack on as well. Ford offers 2 hard covers but was told they are not rack compatible. So what is everyone looking at?
Does anyone know the distance that can be traveled on battery alone? Also wondering if there might be batteries that can double the capacity and still fit in the same spot?
is there even a remote possibility of increasing the capacity of the stock battery for electric mode? I would even consider installing a charge port as well. I only need to go 22 miles per day....be nice if that could be on battery only.
Iām really interested in a hard tonneau with an xtrusion type rack: https://xtrusion-overland.com/pages/about-xtr1 . Anyone know of a system for the Mav yet? Hoping there is some Black Friday deal going on.
I was driving and pulled into a parking spot and turned the truck off without putting into park first....seems when you do this , it puts it into park automatically. Is this an ok practice....or should it be put into park before turning off?
