My advise would be to use ford points to buy the Ford branded Truxedo soft roll up. It’s like 95% water tight if installed right and it’ll be cheaper than most if you save up some points.
I don’t know if you can fit a 235/65 under the bed in the spare location. It’s tight and has a tire popping metal edge that may not give you enough space. Not sure if anyone has tried it yet.
If you’re keeping the Steelies and you want piece of mind, try to fit the 235 underneath so you always...
Interesting. Mine shows way colder and yours showed hotter. Maybe it’s because of the wind hitting the sensor and the engine being cold from not running much?
Looks great! I did a wash, turtle wax seal n shine, turtle wax Ice spray wax, and treated the plastics and rubber with a trim sealer. Should be good for a few months or more, with regular washing.
Happened twice today with mine. Key start, not remote start, so we can rule out the ford pass being an issue. Both times the coolant temp stuck at COLD for 30 minute drive and the out side temp stayed at -11 degrees – 0 degrees when it was 27 degrees out.
Maybe it’s thermostat related
That’s good news about them finding a solution. But now I’m concerned about them fixing what caused it and not replacing the cat… because that’s way more expensive than an ecu flash.
So let’s say this happens in front of the service rep and the cat is glowing. Will they replace the cat? Has it damaged the cat to the point of it needing a new one, despite having a real fix to the problem?
by reading this, it sounds like we all know a temporary solution is to not remote start...
You can roll it up from one side easily. Pop both latches from the back and roll from the side.
So far mine is about 95% watertight. Water gets in from the tailgate gaps and slightly drips from the bulkhead because of two small channels in the plastic trim on the sides of the bed.
I just installed the ford branded version, as well. It’s an inch too short, but I got it centered so it covers the bulkhead about 1/2” and the tailgate a 1/2”. That should be fine, but I’ll see see what happens when it rains.
Question, mine doesn’t look like I can adjust the tension nut. It’s in...
I had some shaking—nothing too bad—and then I read this thread. I adjusted the screw-style bump stops half a turn UP on each side and it fixed the issue about 75%. That’s good enough for me. I don’t want to push it too far and break the weather seal on the front of the hood by pre-loading it too...
Mr. Regular’s reviews are always great, disturbing, and honest. Watch his other ones if you haven't already.
the best way I’ve heard it out is the Maverick is “truck-down”, and the Santa Cruz/Baja is “car-up”
I was just thinking that. Maybe someone on the lot did it while they were cleaning off snow or preparing for a snowstorm with the wipers. This looks identical to the marks that the wipers make when they left up and then slam down on the hood. Even the way that it looks like it’s skipped every...
In that case, it may be worth it for you to bring it to the dealer and then open up a claim to see if they’ll warranty paint work. Maybe your paint is chipping due to a failure.
That is from the wiper arms being up and slamming down on the hood or your snow brush. Warranty won’t cover that if it’s your fault. Something definitely rubbed the paint with force. You’ll have to use touch up paint properly to fix it. If you do it right, you won’t see the scratches anymore.
Yup. It really sucked when I realized what I did and it was MY FAULT! The fix I just posted above will help, and eventually he’ll forget about it. Maybe in a few years you’ll have to retouch it up from washing the car or whatever and the touch up paint flaking, and by that time the hood scratch...
This happened to me, and there is a simple solution to get you back to a factory paint job look and protection.
it was going to snow, so I put the wipers in service mode, stood them up and used ford pass to start the car and defrost the next day. The wipers were on and they smashed the hood...
My dealer said the floormats weren’t available and I didn’t want those plastic tray style WeatherTech’s, so I bought $15 Facebook marketplace rubber mats from an Audi E-tron and cut them to fit. Besides the little nipple that locks it in place, these are molded to fit!
