  1. Ajax Travel trailer towing update

2022 Hybrid. 16 to 18 MPG at 60 MPH. 2750 dry. ~3200 lbs as outfitted. Truck front axle 2300 lbs. Truck rear axle 2600 lbs. Trailer axle 2900 lbs. I don't ever exceed 65 MPH. Nominally set cruise to 62 MPH. Slower on strong grades.
  2. MPG towing a Harley

You'll get middle to high 20's for MPG if you keep it around 65 MPH or a little slower.
  3. Hankook Kinergy PT H737 Tires: 90,000-Mile Warranty

I put the lighter variant on my hybrid a year ago. They come 8/32 or 11/32. MPG is excellent. 1 MPG better than the stock tires. Smooth and quiet. Excellent in dry and wet. I'm never below freezing so no snow or ice experience but this is probably a 3 season tire for most folks. Can't beat the...
  4. Looking for Advice for Mountain Driving

Any major thoroughfare you will be fine. Worst is 10 mph to 25 mph. Under 10 mph, no real engine brake, when battery is full, no regen brake, = friction brake only, but you are going slow enough not to overheat them. Over 25 mph there is plenty of engine brake. Above 65 mph there is a lot of...
  5. Looking for Advice for Mountain Driving

Er.... that's 70% max. SOC. Which it gets there fast; about 1 mile of regen.
  6. Looking for Advice for Mountain Driving

Pikes Peak is worst case scenario: Steep, hairpin turns, low speed limits, long duration.
  7. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

Your exact trailer was defective (or your exact truck.) This isn't normal. I leave a trailer and or hitch light pugged in for weeks at a time. Keeps my battery 100% 100% of the time.
  8. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

14.3 "probably" means your battery is in the middle. Not fully charged. Not significantly discharged. Lower than 50% and the voltage normally goes up. Higher than ~90% and the voltage goes down IF lamps are off. Or stays 14.3 to 14.8 all the way to 100% if lamps are on. The lamps on trick is...
  9. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

Then, just run headlamps or parking lamps full time to = a full time charged battery.
  10. Ford CEO Jim Farley’s Right To Repair Comment

How many climate change skeptics does it take to change a lightbulb? None. Because the bulb is fine the way it is.
  11. Ford CEO Jim Farley’s Right To Repair Comment

A little bit, yes. Just like rotating tires requires sensors and software. Sounds like an old joke. But software is involved with changing lightbulbs too! How many software engineers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
  12. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

My 12v battery drops 4% parked overnight. Like clockwork. Starting at 96% if lights are on, the next run cycle it will charge at 14.3v until it hits 100% then will drop to 13.7 to 13.9 volts to maintain. Less than 0.5 amp charging at this point so I see zero on my meter. I used to see 15.3 or...
  13. Ford CEO Jim Farley’s Right To Repair Comment

No. You won't be able to. Similar to changing out odometers, if the serial numbers (or whacha call it) don't match, it's not going to even turn on.... unless you have the fancy computer to reprogram it, the skill set, and of course the administrative password. 🤓
  14. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

Update: 100% battery charge for more than 60 consecutive days. No help from external charger. Only lamps on each drive.
  15. First Sight! $30k Midsize EV Pickup Prototype

Are you sure? Look where the door handles are. And remember when the Maverick camouflage test mule photos came out in 2020? The real Maverick came out exactly the same! 🤓
  16. First Sight! $30k Midsize EV Pickup Prototype

They tried to hide the headlamp style. And failed. Bwwwwwa Haaaaa Haaaa Ha.
  17. First Sight! $30k Midsize EV Pickup Prototype

Windows look small. It's got a chopped and lowered stance. Or great camouflage. I just wanna know... will it pull a 4k trailer?
  18. First Sight! $30k Midsize EV Pickup Prototype

So it's midsize just like the Maverick! Yay!
  19. Oil Change Frequency 2026 Hybrid Maverick

Some people forget turbo boosted and battery boosted engines are very different. How many miles have you driven your EcoBoost with the engine off?
  20. 30,000 miles on my 2025 Maverick Hybrid Lariat AWD w/4K…

No. Just some wheel slippage off pavement with the trailer. Once in fine desert sand I was close to getting stuck. Going uphill my wheels were spinning a lot and my forward speed dropped from 20 mph to about 6 or 7 MPH just as I crested the hill. Was close to 4k though with a FWD. (with trailer...
