  1. A quick fix for the rear wheel well debris trap

Here is a video kind of explaining the problem. The rear wheel wells have a pocket that collects debris and funnels it into the inside of the rocker panels. So I made up a simple plastic part that just closes off that hole...
  2. Tailgate Hole Covers

Yes the part is in mm, although it shouldn’t matter. For what it’s worth, the Ford tailgate stampings are also dimensioned in mm.
  3. Tailgate Hole Covers

I printed these in PLA, but if you live somewhere very hot you probably want to use a higher temp plastic. PLA softens around 140 F. Luckily, where I live, the outside of the truck will never hit those temperatures. My machine is a Bambu Lab P1S. If you want to print it yourself, many public...
  4. Tailgate Hole Covers

I wasn’t very happy with any of the other 3D printed tailgate covers. They have unnecessary overhangs and support or poor fitment. They also leave the drain holes open to dirt from above. This set fits the tailgate stamping exactly and covers every hole from falling debris. The big cable...
  5. Mabett New Products Sneak Peek!

Have you looked closely at the stock wheel arch liner design? There is a pocket which is open at the top to the wheel well. The air deflector (looks like a mudflap in front of the wheel) which also blocks off the rocker panels forms a wall in front of that pocket. So rocks and gravel can fall in...
  6. A Super Simple 3D Printer Front Console Trash Bin

Just a simple trash bin that you can empty out and clean. Fits the front console. Prints with no supports. Extra thick walls for durability. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1444745-ford-maverick-front-trash-bin#profileId-1504289
  7. Canoe hauling

I just screwed together a few pieces of construction lumber and dropped it into the divider slots.
  8. 1 Hour Canoe Rack

I’ve got three 1/2” ratchet straps on there. Two over the top to compress the boat down and one diagonal to the thwarts to keep it from flying forwards if I hit the brakes. No highway driving today so I didn’t bother with anything to keep it from sliding back.
  9. 1 Hour Canoe Rack

Made from an 8 ft 2X6 and a 12 ft 2X4. I purposefully kept the base pretty narrow so I could get it in and out using the slots in the bed. 2X4 verticals are about 37” to match the roof with foam blocks (no rack).
  10. Lurching while stopped

I guess that makes sense because this transmission doesn’t have any clutches. To idle the gas engine at a standstill it needs to spin the electric drive motor backwards at just the right speed to match and it probably can’t hold the wheels dead still at 0 rpm with the engine running.
  11. Lurching while stopped

2023 Hybrid XL. Every now and then when I am stopped with my foot on the brake, I get a gentle low frequency lurching. It’s like someone is rocking my bumper. It doesn’t happen at every stop only maybe once or twice a week. I can’t seem to figure out any pattern to when it happens. I don’t use...
  12. Found a use for left over bed cubby cover plate

One winter later and it looks fine. No accumulation of debris on top and it seems to block 80-90% of the spray going up that way. Not a perfect solution but an okay one.
  13. Ford Canada: Received rear turn signal recall notice

I’m leaving this one until I take it to the dealer for something else.
  14. IMHO most Mavericks will rot out at the left rear quarter, will yours?

And here’s how things look today after a little bit of winter driving

  16. 2023 Hybrid Suddenly Grabby Brakes

No problems at all on the hills. It’s low speed driving now that we’re back in town. The car lurches hard when it tries to blend the electronic and hydraulic brakes just before coming to a stop. I thought maybe using the regen motor hard in the mountains might have weakened it so now it doesn’t...
  17. IMHO most Mavericks will rot out at the left rear quarter, will yours?

When I installed the extra cubby I bolted the leftover cubby cover plate over the hole. The bolt pattern lined up pretty closely to the two square holes. It covers about 80% of it and the cubby itself blocks most of the tail light from the mud.
  18. Low coolant levels - where is it going? Ecoboost

There’s also a heat exchanger somewhere in the exhaust which is known to leak.
  19. 2023 Hybrid Suddenly Grabby Brakes

My 2023 Hybrid is about 4 months old now. Until now the brakes have been just fine. We just came back from a ski trip where we driving up and down lots of mountains and sitting in the cold overnight and now the brakes grab hard and jerk the truck when slowing down. It’s super annoying! I...
