I do that occasionally, my transit will go that way in a few weeks, but the transit is a business vehicle, the Mav is personal, so I don’t want to “Tart” it.. (British slang). Means make it garish ..
My 2003 F150 was black also, so was the 08, I’m not a silver type person either, and white is just a canvas to add graphics. Lol..
the lighting was/is a lovely truck, the flareside with the unique taillights was a work of art..
I think velocity blue is beautiful, and didn’t really know of Alto, but it’s too dark for my tastes I think, also for the Florida sun. my Mav will live in Fl and travel to Cally occasionally, so didn’t want it too dark because of getting hot from the sun. My first American truck was a black...
Pretty sure it’s 72.3 %…. .
Yes, you are probably right, they aimed at coastal adventure seekers and first truck type people, didn’t realize that their is a massive market for those that don’t want trucks that come with their own zip code…. I have a race red transit, so wanted a contrast or...
Only in America my friend.. I have lived in shoebox houses in The UK, and in Asia. The space and toys we have in the USA are amazing,, we live a kings life over here. as my Chinese ex once said, only in America even the very poor have car and house with land.
I can see why. And the 2022 Mav was the first I paid full sticker for. Lol. At least no dealer markup’s.. now getting them at sticker is a miracle. Lol
The transit connect was an evolution of the Ford Fiesta, so it’s shape was limited by the floor pan I think,. The maverick should allow for a bit more length and a less boxy shape. The second gen was focus based “I think”. So a little more room for style.. but the whole thing evolved from the...
They were small for sure, but still a 4 berth, bear in mind we British build 48 houses on one acre, so small is relative. And when I moved to America my e250 conversion van was palatial by comparison. Literally 2 weeks ago just parked my e350 triton v10 for my new transit 250 high top EXL...
I loved that thing, had a few PT cruisers at the time, the HHR was prettier and faster, but the rear door was the size of a postage stamp and the PT had removable rear seats, made it cavernous.. yes, a beautiful thing though.
I don’t understand why they don’t have green or/and brown. They are not expensive colors. Must be about production volumes.. (cost controls). Thanks for your comments.. much appreciated.
I would not be surprised if the NewTransit connect doesn’t follow the lines of this roof, just a slightly shorter wheelbase. (Van)__or maybe two wheelbase options.. . This van would take market share from Mercedes’ metris, Nissan nv200/Chevy city express etc.. so market is proven.. its a...
Ford has made some amazing vehicles. That escort van was a common conversation to a cosworth engine beast.. really an amazing vehicle, and yes, shag carpet was compulsory.. lol
Those are some nice colors, just not enough.. but as one of the other comments said, 80%of cars are grey/silver ish, now.. (63% of all statistics are made up on the spot).
Their was a time when car companies realized a bright color vehicle was a rolling advertisement, Austin even made special colors and discounted them to get then on the streets and “in your face”.. great marketing.. and some awesome colors.. lol
