OK. another of those crazy tidbitz, Green is seen as an unlucky color on a car by the Irish, no idea why. But when young every time I looked at a green car my mum and dad would bitch at me. Lol.
This gives you an idea of the 50s greens on the UK roads., BRS, (British road services) was a form of UPS in its day. But everything used leftover Army green.
the velocity did look good on the Mav, and I think the Atlas looks just as classy, if not more. I think getting the cruise on the 23 Mav makes not getting the 22 worth it. I do love the Atlas, it’s sparkle, but the base simplicity of the 51 still makes it a hard choice for me..
Yes, British racing green started at Bentley I think, but ended up on everything…. But it did default to the higher end vehicles. My Rover(Honda)200 wagon looked awesome in BRG..
most of the colors of vehicles in the 50s were I direct result of the Second World War, what paints and...
It’s alway cool when the right touches work.. tint is a must, and the carbon grey is the best grey for sure. I really did consider the Carbon.. a good wax and a ceramic coating is probably worth its weight in gold.
You will find that color on every Austin, Morris, Wolesley, Riley, Ford, etc.etc. Etc of its day.. Mav 51 was a British police car color for many a car in its day also.. ok, maybe a shade off, the cop car was a bit more minty.. lol.
The slope of the rear window, same as the ford Angie mk2, was to stop ice/snow from settling. They didn’t freeze over or build up with the inverted slant.
I do think A51 is a great dust hide color, and a hot area color. Alto is too dark, I agree, but it is the most “dynamic” paint color I think.. but yes, too dark for me also..
The Mav definitely needs more color choices, make it an upcharge if need be, but dam, 7 grey scale and a few others is not a color range.. please ford.. 2024, 6 more “real” colors please.
Yup, Area 51 I think.. lol. The Reliant was popular because they were considered motorbikes, and could be driven without a licens, “by drunks who lost their license”. Reverse was a plate in the floor that you lifted up and walked it back with your feet.
It’s funny to me how the flat paints have home a thing.. some look amazing, but my brain still wants to know where the clearcote went.. but tastes differ, as Paddy said, kissing his cow.
