And this is the MG Maestro in red.. was the fastest production car of its time, “in a straight line”. Lol..
and the silver one, an MG Xpower, an amalgam of MG and Mangusto of Italy I think. But it couldn’t save MG.. (now owner by Saic of China).
I was a kid in the passenger side of a Vauxhall Viva mk2, when my dad clipped the corner of a Reliant, it peeled the entire side off the Reliant, didn’t scratch the paint on the Viva. It looked like a car show cutaway.. perfect peel..
I like the Edsel.. lol. My fave car was probably the MG Maestro turbo.. it was ridiculous.. like a pacer on steroids. Ohh and check out the bond bug.. a TR7 styled reliant, kinda thing…
They do know their stuff, as I travel it’s interesting to see the way ford adapts in different countries.. but same as all companies, they lose the plot every now and again.. like the nose on the 2024 mustang.. lol. But your right. Their have been a thousand car companies come and go in...
I just wanted to throw another drawing out their. Not a ford, but a Jag..
Jaguar promises an all electric future, which means it needs to fix its biggest problem, electrical reliability.. … anyway.. enjoy the sketch..
I have fond memories of all those cars, I’m sure you know the reliant has a nickname, “The plastic pig”. ..
good luck with the Consul, funny. Sitting in a field in Idaho for fifty years it has probably faired better than being a daily driver in the UK.. lol.
Silver can be beautiful, no doubt, but I agree, not for the Mav.. it needs good solid colors, the hot pepper is fine on a low rider or something, but just not right on the Mav either.. race red, a solid orange, a british racing green,, Etc.. utilitarian solid colors for a utilitarian...
I do see very few green vehicles around, the average parking lot is now very bland to me. My first Mini was applejack green, loved the color, so yes, we need more greens, lol. And more color in general. And that Ram dark green I’d pretty for sure.
The flat, subdued colors are very similar to those of my childhood, before metallics existed. So brings fond memories. But the bright and metallic colors that evolved over the years are amazing.. I suppose that’s why I’m so torn.
I can see your logic, it’s kind of why I started this thread.. I love the metallic blues, but blue as a whole is nice.. so I threw it at the club for opinions.. thank you..
I do think I shall side with the Atlas also. I think I fell in love with the lighting blue on the mustang about 2015. Worked beautifully on the mustang.,
So very true. Ford has its moments. The mustang, the GT, the Maverick.. lol. But then they have the Edsel, the Anglia.. and so many more.. to be fair, they are evolving quite well, they allow others to make the big jumps and then ford will see who wins or loses, then bet heavy with a...
I will agree, that striping would not look out of place on the original maverick. .. it’s a very good rebirth of the look. its well done.. with the white painted wheels he nailed the look. It may need a little wood grain beading around those graphics though.. lol.
I think it’s just great it’s on its way, no matter the color.. lol. These Mavs are so hot it’s silly ford hasn’t upped production. But I think they are keeping demand to maximize profits.. but congrats..
