My 25 also does this on a cold start for the first few minutes. My 22 did not. I’m thinking this is on purpose to warm up the ICE faster and top off the hybrid battery. Whenever I remote start it and let it warm up for 15 minutes it does not do it.
Thing is if it was a hybrid or regular ICE it probably could be 20k and include an infotainment system and power windows while getting around 40-50mpg. That would make more sense.
I noticed no difference on the way home. I had been researching A/T tires since I had my 22. These had been on the top of my list for a while. Others have run these tires on the hybrid and have loved them. Are they the best A/T tires out there. Probably not. But just like the hybrid Maverick...
Thanks. I always had my eyes on these even when I had my 22. I think they are a great fit for the hybrid. Can't wait to see what my mpg difference will be. I don't notice any decrease in acceleration and the driving feels about the same as stock.
After getting a flat last week I decided to replace all 4 with Firestone destination A/T2s in 235/65R17. They are only 4lbs more than stock tires at 28lbs. Love the look! I think these are the best option for the hybrid that shouldn't kill the mpg while giving it more capability!
Mine is going up though the weather has been warmer and I haven't let it warm up in the mornings. I have 1300 miles and I'm getting 37.8 now. I'm getting some A/T tires installed tomorrow so I'm sure that it won't go up much more or at all after that.
