Ford is delaying the hybrid numbers from reaching full potential because of CAFE. They did some math and even if they produce at full capacity, the payout won't effect the bottom line enough. They're saving the fuel economy numbers for next year, where they can better impact the bottom line...
The EPA had not yet certified the fuel mileage, everyone who has a build date and window sticker, still shows it as not ready to be sold.
Unless something has changed, still no build date for me either...
I initially ordered exactly what I wanted, XLT hybrid spare tire, tow hitch, and spray in. I took the spray in off, and last week ended up adding the lux package. (Wife drove my current vehicle, and stated all the stuff she has that she missed, lol).
I thought about moving to the Ecoboost, but...
Agreed, the DORA would provide you with the info to call Ford to ensure the status of your order. If you call, they're just going to ask for that info.
I bit my tongue until today, he said they haven't made any of them, and then proceeded to tell me why I couldn't get the luxury package... Being that I ordered an XL... Only problem is, I ordered an XLT, I sent him my confirmation from Ford, and informed him that I understood the order...
My dealer told me the same thing... Said it was due to the chip shortage...
I did ask if they've had any Ecoboost orders get scheduled, and am waiting on a response. I also said F it, and asked to have the lux package added... But I really only want the heated mirrors...
Hybrid XLT right now, but my current car didn't want to start this morning (battery) so I may be giving it up for something else, If I can't get scheduled soon...
Due to the scheduling stop of the hybrids I'm seriously considering changing my order to an Ecoboost.
Anyone change their order on Wednesday, and still get picked up on Thursday?
Your first statement "based on the availability of parts" is immediately debunked by your second statement. Supply chain issues are well understood by me.
Personally, I'm not upset with it, I understand the state of the logistics industry, as well as new product launch & demand planning...
I called today to find out whether I missed an email, and did get a reply though... being in logistics and manufacturing I understand supply challenges quite well.
I think what the real issue is, is that people are upset that we made an active decision to place an order for this vehicle, and, Instead of rewarding those who placed orders early, people who ordered after them are getting build dates simply because of who they ordered from.
The order process...
Ok, I work in Gates. We'll have to have let the other check it out if one of us gets delivery first... fingers crossed for a scheduling email this week though...
I doubt there will be too many claims with the 12v battery, maybe if they were sitting on the lot waiting for a sale... But not likely since they're going straight to homes for the most part.
I drive 30k/year so I'll let you know about the hvb... Hopefully no news will be good news...
