To answer your intended question: yes, yes it is off, but unfortunately you're not my type.
To answer about the speedometer, unless it says "certified" yes, it's "off." To that point, even if it says certified, unless it's had the calibration checked within specifications, it's still...
Perhaps in a court of law, however many of these matters are now handled in the court of public opinion, long before they ever get the chance to be seen in front of a judge.
I'm not certain that's true looking at what's going on with the bronco...
I do know I was concerned and asked my dealer to confirm no ADM, while I didn't get a set no, to I did get an answer that meets the reasonable person test...
Just ask your dealer to confirm in an email and you should...
Overall maintenance on the hybrid *should* be better, no belts, no turbos, and the history of ford's escape hybrid... I drive 120 miles/day 3mpg will add up, as well as the maintenance savings. My hauling needs can be met with the hybrid, and I can rent something for the once every couple years...
I ordered the hybrid, my current car's life is questionable, and my mileage is 98% highway. The difference between EB and hybrid in this scenario is 3mpg, not much of a difference. I've considered changing my order multiple times...
I got my fits letter, debating on contacting another dealer and saying order XLT Lux EB front wheel drive and I'll buy it at invoice if it comes in first...
But I drive a lot (120 miles/day), so the maintenance of the hybrid is a real selling point...
Thanks for the update.
For the "I'd rather..." people- I'm sure Ford would rather ship our trucks too. Until I get mine though, I'll take what they offer, because they don't have to do anything.
Thank you for a helpful reply.
I'll look at those, not looking for anything crazy, but I haven't been happy with throttle response on the late-model vehicles I've driven lately. I'm not looking for high horsepower gains like are seen with turbo swaps, or boost increases....
Forgive me if this has been asked, and for not knowing but...
If I order the hybrid, and I'm not happy with the acceleration, or overall power, are there mods that can be done to make this more powerful? I'm not looking to spend tens of thousands on modifications, or an engine swap, but I know...
All I know is, you go to jojo's and make a right.
Honestly though, I'm glad the EPA numbers are the hold up. I've worked with regulatory agencies and am currently in supply chain/logistics (not automotive), I understand that crap happens, people misunderstand, freight gets held up in ports...
Next theory up:
Ford really has no hybrid. They're delaying until they can get as many people to switch as possible. Once they reach maximum participation, they will switch all others to Ecoboost at no charge. Proof of concept: FWD 4k towing.
New conspiracy:
Ford is actually building all of the trucks, and had most built. unfortunately they were sitting in a warehouse that was taken over by a Mexican drug cartel. Ransom is 100 pesos, but Ford is worried about the bottom line.
