Good point. First thing to check would be to determine whether he's got a wet cell or AGM battery. One would think the dealer would consider that in how they would solve the problem. Whether he has a wet cell or AGM, they should have replaced it.

Don't know about the 25 Ranger, but the 25 Maverick has wireless connectivity to CarPlay. Not sure if that affected your comparison, but it sounds like Ford didn't update to a better version for the Ranger as you pointed out.
