  1. Rumor Mill: PHEV AWD Maverick (Plug In Hybrid)

PHEV AWD would be awesome. AWD hybrid would be awesome. But I really doubt that either will be MY2023, maybe '24 more likely '25. I plan on ordering in August and already told my dealer that PHEV or hybrid AWD would be my preference. He thought I was joking...........
  2. OCT 2021 EcoBoost order. Where are you?!?!?!

So why is he still your dealer? Forget calling him. Go there. Sit down with them and ask them to explain in small words why your truck has not been scheduled. If they don't have an answer (which you already have) look into moving that order to another dealer.
  3. OCT 2021 EcoBoost order. Where are you?!?!?!

You should be sitting in your dealer's office giving them a piece of your mind. They have not done you any favors. 30 minutes of reading this forum or any of the Facebook groups would tell you that you have items in your build that are constrained. Unless those are removed your build is very...
  4. ****REGARDING DEAD HYBRID MAVERICKS ISSUE****

I think that should be part of the dealer training. Nobody wants to admit their brand new truck they just sold you might need a jump, but it happens. Being prepared for that solves a lot of problems. My son bought me one of these NOCO GB40 years ago and it has served me well. Hard to...
  5. ****REGARDING DEAD HYBRID MAVERICKS ISSUE****

Did they jump from the 12v battery in the cab or the jump points under the hood? If they used the battery it might not work because the connection is faulty under the hood???
  6. HYBRID MAVERICK TOWING 2000LB BOAT

Thanks, I've seen quite few people state that you have to have a 4x4 to pull a boat up the ramp. Glad you confirmed that isn't the case.
  7. Anyone having rust issues with their Maverick?

Thank you sir! I think they use that or something like it on cast iron machine surfaces at work. Did not know it could be used as a undercoat.
  8. HYBRID MAVERICK TOWING 2000LB BOAT

Did you launch with it? Wondering how the FWD worked pulling up a wet ramp?
  9. Anyone having rust issues with their Maverick?

What is the name of that product? I cannot quite read the name from the picture. And does it need reapplied or does it hold up over time?
  10. Snow chains required or not with AWD?

Oregon law says either chains or traction (studded) tires in 'chain up' areas when required. AWD or 4x4 are exempt if you are under 6,500lbs, have snow tires on and are NOT towing anything. You are still required to have chains on board just not have them on. I always have chains in the car...
  11. i have waited too long!!

Whatever you decide you might want to consider keeping that Maverick order. Most likely you sell it to the dealer or 3rd party for a premium when it does arrive. And I agree with above comments on the Ranger, unless you find one on the lot you are just going to join a new wait list for a much...
  12. i have waited too long!!

Not 'allows', dealer contracts. But regardless if it is an actual customer order they should not be adding ADM. If they do, report them to Ford there are consequences. If its a dealer stock order or a customer order that was refused then yeah, the dealer can charge whatever they want to.
  13. Some 22MY Mavericks may get pushed to MY23

I think a lot of people just assume a company will automatically prioritize models that are a higher profit margin. But its not that simple. Maverick and Lightening (just for example) are not made in the same factory. And they don't have many parts in common except perhaps chips. Nor are...
  14. Hybrid Off-Road Trip Report From Colorado

My dad's philosophy was that you only needed 4 wheel drive to get out if you were dumb enough to get stuck in 2 wheel drive. FWD is an amazing difference over RWD. I spent 40 years driving in snow / ice / slush / freezing rain and never once had a 4x4. Front wheel drive and snow tires and if...
  15. Some 22MY Mavericks may get pushed to MY23

Max capacity which they are not doing due to parts shortages. As already explained by others. Why would they do that? Any estimate would be wrong. - They are not running at max and even if they were they cannot say that will continue. - They have no idea when any particular truck will get...
  16. Some 22MY Mavericks may get pushed to MY23

Wow, lot's of anger there, sorry you are so upset. Don't really understand where it comes from though. Unless you think Ford management is deliberately holding up production for some reason. Or withholding information just to make you mad. All anyone can do is make predictions based on the...
  17. Ford Announces a 2nd Electric Pickup Coming... Possibly Electric Maverick EV?

Depends a lot on ICE mileage and efficiency of the EV. But a rough average is that running an EV is about as expensive as $2.00 gas. Anything over $2.00 per gallon puts the EV ahead. Of course that doesn't take into account the initial cost of the vehicle which in general is higher for an...
  18. Ford Vows to Clean Up Quality Issues as Recalls Hit Hard

Nothing like stating the obvious. :) That actually happened to my wife. My 1979 F150 lost a rear wheel while she was driving. Scared the heck out of her. Shop had pulled that wheel for brake inspection and never tightened the lug nuts. Took a while but it eventually came off. Fortunately...
  19. Some 22MY Mavericks may get pushed to MY23

Sounds like a good way to put a lot of autoworkers out of a job.................
  20. Some 22MY Mavericks may get pushed to MY23

Probably correct. Constraints will not just magically disappear. They sure are not going to just stop the line waiting on parts for constrained MY22s when they have the parts for non-constrained MY23s.
