I'll take scientific lab results over anecdotal comments on engine longevity any day. Unless you have fleet records you can provide showing oil change intervals and whether those engines are original, have been rebuilt etc it's all just a fairy tale.
I have to recommend those Michelin Defenders. I purchased another wheel and tire set from a member here with Falken Wildpeaks and then quickly went back to the Bronco Sport wheels with the Michelin Defenders because they're so good. They drastically improved the ride quality of the Maverick...
The person running the lab tests probably has no clue about proper vehicle maintenance or why ecoboost engines are so finicky when it comes to oil quality. I appreciate the service as I don't have the means to do an oil analysis myself but I feel bad for people who blindly follow their advice.
Just for clarification this was not the factory oil, I changed that out at about 750 miles. I don't bother doing a UOA on factory oil since pretty much every engine is going to have a ton of wear metals in it and you're not going to get any kind of accurate idea of engine health. As you can see...
There's no universally acceptable number for oil change intervals especially on a turbocharged direct injected engine. If you're not using UOA to determine your OCI then you're just throwing a dart at a board full of oil change intervals.
Different engines are operated under different...
Probably trying to standardize wiring harness options, aka, squeeze more profit out of a model that barely has any to begin with. Wiring harness options can be expensive and it saves Ford a good amount of money per unit by standardizing the harness for at least the XL trim.
Ford had two separate parts for XL and XLT/Lariat doors. Now they can just consolidate to the "XL" type doors which are I'm sure a lot cheaper since they will not have a cutout in the door frame pillar and they can reduce their part catalog and have a cheaper price point for a higher quantity of...
This thread is almost a year old.
OP is severely misinformed. On the F150 the pillar trim could be swapped out with the wired version of the keypad because all trims had a cutout in the door pillar. On the Maverick ONLY the XLT and Lariat models have a cutout in the door pillar. The XL doors...
Standard spare is a donut no matter what options on an XL AWD. You would have had to opt for the optional "full size" spare for the extra $115 or whatever the cost was
That's why I said they wouldn't cover it, ALL manufacturers are very very discerning when it comes to rust perforation claims. I've dealt with it before and I could 100% tell that the damage was a result of a stone chip, just unlucky that you didn't notice it sooner because it could have been...
I don't understand the opposition to removing the front wheel, it literally takes seconds. I'm also anti tailgate pad since I routinely store things in my bed and don't want to remove a tailgate pad every time I want to lock my hard rolling tonneau which is not compatible with a tailgate pad...
This is my 3rd Ecoboost 2.0, 300k miles combined out of the previous 2 and they ran perfect when I sold them. Like I said, Ford put that spec into place for a reason but do what you want.......it's your engine, I'll stick to Ford's specification, you can put olive oil in your engine for all I care.
I mean you can lead a horse to water but you can't make em drink. I literally posted a screenshot of the owner's manual along with Ford's specification which the Kirkland oil does not meet along with verbiage from Ford pertaining to warranty coverage and even explained the reason Ford...
I have purchased two wheels, one for my XL and one for the father's XL. The one on mine is the Active X and my father's is real leather and I think the Active X feels 1,000 times better than the real leather.
As far as I know there's nothing out there. A company called JCR Off Road makes parts to include a skid plate for the cat for the Bronco Sport which is super close to the Maverick's underbody but they say that they have no plans to make anything for the Maverick, I guess they don't see potential...
Nah I'm done with the guy who thinks ilsac is a Ford specification. It's like trying to play chess with someone who thinks they're also playing chess but they have checkers pieces and a chutes n ladders game board.
It's not so much about warranty work as it is the fact that Ford has had serious issues related to the reason they require that spec in the first place. If not for warranty reasons do it to help prolong the life of an already very temperamental engine. This is not a K series Honda motor this is...
