Can't say I agree with you, but to each his own. I've been in three wrecks in my life, in one the seat belt would not have mattered in the other two I would have been dead no question.
My son is also an avid seat belt hater, and it bothers us a lot but he is old enough to make his own choices...
Would it not be possible to add your batteries and put an isolator in the circuit so the truck can manage it's battery but not the add-ons? I'm a little out of my area of expertise so maybe that's not possible but similar systems are installed in motorhomes to allow the truck engine to charge...
I'm not sure why Toyota has been hung up on hydrogen for so long. But since they have now shuffled their long time (anti-EV) president off and replaced him that might change. Honda, who was an early proponent of hydrogen has publicly stated that they see no future in a hydrogen internal...
Actually it's not exactly a secret that Toyota hasn't been all in on EV's. And they just ousted their longtime president who was the reason they weren't and replaced him with someone who is actually an EV fan. As the only major car company not to embrace EV's Toyota is now facing being way...
From NTSB data:
https://www.kbb.com/car-news/study-electric-vehicles-involved-in-fewest-car-fires/
Hybrid car fires = 3,474 per 100k sales
Gasoline car fires = 1,529 per 100k sales
Electric car fires = 25 per 100k sales
EV car fires get all the news but maybe we should park the EV inside and...
And that's the beauty of this. You can buy what you like. Unless you live in California, Oregon, Washington or New York. In which case you might have to buy an EV within the next 10 years. I'm guessing you are safe in Texas for a good while. :):) On the other hand I think in 10 years you...
Electric vehicles should be disconnected from 'green'. They are inherently no greener than an ICE vehicle, maybe less. But they do give us a choice if we want to use 'green' energy. Choice. Not required.
And yes the real question is do we want to mine our own resources or continue to buy...
Congrats on your build! Your dealer can give you updates on the railcar locations. Mine has shown me the screen every time I go in. It's a map with dots showing when the app was updated with a location.
Mine was loaded onto a railcar 12/6/2022. It's still not here. So I hope yours's is on...
I know this is pointless but did you know that the US has known proven reserves of Lithium that will cover all EV batteries for at least 40 years? They aren't developed yet, but will be coming online in 2025 and 2026.
And that in the long term Lithium isn't likely to be the battery of choice...
Thanks, that is a very good suggestion. Although in this case none of the normal storage precautions would have been done. So I'm left picking up after instead of being pre-emptive.
Yes. They have been following it regularly and updating me. But it has been stuck at the Portland, Oregon...
My 2023 Hybrid Lariat is still missing. It's now 100 days since it was loaded on a rail car. I stopped in the dealer today and while chatting with them jokingly said that the truck will be ready for it's first oil change before I even get it.
After I left I got to thinking, the truck was...
Lot's of Elon hate out there. Personally, I don't much care about any egotistic celebrities. I have actual work to do rather than waste time over them.
However, I think most people misunderstand Elon. He wants to go to mars. Everything he does, including starting an electric car company is...
The question isn't "will an electric truck be a hit?" It's "will the cyber truck be a hit?"
Like it or not electric is the future, be that in 5 years or 10. Or today for some of us. My ID.4 is the best car I have ever driven and I just wave as I go past the gas station.
The Cybertruck on...
Also because dealers really have no idea how to work with retail orders and most definitely do not want to. Part of that is just they do not want to change and part is that they are used to being in control of what vehicles they have to sell and at what price they charge.
Instead of embracing...
Short answer is no. Longer answer is this is not a plug-in so all energy is derived from the ICE engine. The purpose of the electric portion is to store energy and then use it when the ICE engine is least efficient, such as starting from a full stop or accelerating quickly. This allows the...
Honestly, no one knows. Not even Ford. Ford might have a plan, but most likely it is fluid and subject to change. Best guess, based on history and rumors would be early fall. With an average 6 month wait after ordering.
Worth it as a vehicle or worth it to wait over just buying one off the...
