Yup! Lot's of factors in towing safely, more than most folks check. But the hitch is #1. If the hitch can't handle the load, nothing else really matters.
I thought they were the same. But I could be wrong. And if so I would change my mind on my post above. Definitely would not do it using the lighter class hitch.
That is what it seems to imply. Which I think is a much better system than having to place a MY23 order just in case and not knowing what your offer (or MY23 pricing) would be.
Not happy waiting until September to order but considering the mess they currently have this is a very good idea...
If I understand correctly you just want to move it a short distance and launch / retrieve? Like around the marina or something? In that case I honestly don't see why not. You have AWD, the only thing missing are the coolers which are only useful for towing any distance. The truck itself is...
Just do the math, make sure everything is secure and drive carefully. I start being cautious any time I have more than half of max in the bed. Anything more than the driver means you are loading more than you are used to. So allow more room to stop, watch for idiots cutting in front of you, etc.
That might be a little dramatic :)
Your truck is not going to disintegrate if you go 10 pounds over the limit.............
Payload numbers are engineered for safety. Any time you go beyond that limit you are going beyond the designed limit but other factors are also in play. You can cause...
Oh, I'm concerned. But this is the best of the lot, dealerwise. Unless I drive over 200 miles. Would rather not do that.
I know the information is available, but it is just sad that many salespeople just don't take the time to read it.
When I stopped in yesterday my salesman wanted me to come in on August 15th when the order bank opened. I told him it would open on August 2nd. News to him but we set an appointment for the 2nd. Wondering if I should call and let him know the company he works for has now changed the date...
I have an appointment with my dealer on August 2nd to sit down and enter my order.
Anyone want to bet whether I get a call to tell me not to bother coming in?
Good for you (and the other MY22 folks) but not so much for anybody eager for a MY23. Visited my dealer yesterday and set everything up including an appointment on the 2nd to sit down and actually enter the order. Guess that is not going to happen now. :):)
Well, it's not like we have any other choice. :):) But it is odd they are removing options from a build page that technically is no longer valid. Maybe those options are dropping off because they are out of stock and being replaced with something different for MY23. No way to know if the...
It sounds like your dealer is going to place the new MY23 order for you, so they are on the ball. Whether it is 'automatic' or not is just semantics as long as it gets done.
But now its seems as if new orders are not opening until 9/15ish so at least that means everyone with a MY22 order will...
Supposedly it is possible as "drop ship". But for a Chicago dealer to do that they would need a cooperating dealer in Puerto Rico. Which sounds unlikely.
Some dealers will ship to your location, but at a cost. Check with Long McArthur in Salinas, Kansas
Everything I have read or heard says you must place a new 2023 order.
However, some dealers appear to be doing that for you automatically. If so that might sort of be considered "automatically" but that seems to be at the dealer's option not automatically by Ford. So you would need to check...
He also stated that MY22 orders would be prioritized by Ford within existing constraints. I'll have to go back and listen again but I don't remember him saying "first thing when order banks open", just that they were going to re-enter all of their MY22 customer orders automatically as a service...
