  1. Thoughts on the rear sliding window.

Requiring a $540 option, that's unrelated to the window, just to pay another $155 for the manual window is a B.S. move on Ford's part IMO. $695 for a manual window essentially. Maybe an aftermarket will come out cheaper than that. Might even be power for less than that!
  2. 2.5L Hybrid

I wanted AWD or 4x4 available on the base model, and base engine, whatever that turned out to be. Paying 3300 to upgrade both is a lot on a 20k truck. And I think Ford knows it, an article already stated Ford said AWD hybrid will be available in the future if there's demand for it, and how could...
  3. Maverick Technical Specifications Sheet - What are your reactions?

I think im interested in waiting for an AWD hybrid also, not because I specifically want the AWD to be hybrid, but honestly I just dont wanna have to pay to upgrade the engine JUST so i can upgrade to AWD. Whatever the base is, I wanted that, in AWD. Upcharging 3300 bucks to get me the better...
  4. Ordering a Maverick...

We used to do this exact same dance, and honestly, this article explained it better than the actual training I received when i was hired on at the dealership! Maybe, if i had read this when I first got the job I would've done better, and still be there working you guys over 😆
  5. Ordering a Maverick...

Plus, without seeing and driving your trade in, they may not give you a valuation via email. And if they do, they could always renegotiate it when you show up at the dealership with it, any little thing and I bet they'll look to lower the value.
  6. Chevy joining the competition?

If they showed up next year with a trucklet that only had the option to be all electric, it would still be 100% Ford's party. They're cool for some people, but useless or unwanted by the overwhelming majority. Gas is far from dead.
  7. Chevy joining the competition?

Once again, GM showing up late to Ford's party, lmao
  8. Maverick vs Hyundai Santa Cruz

I think you mean Ford needs a new Model T 😆
  9. Maverick vs Hyundai Santa Cruz

Ford has 25 manufacturing facilities in the United States. Hyundai has one assembly plant in Alabama. They're not even in the same league.
  10. Maverick vs Hyundai Santa Cruz

This, exactly. Not to mention im sure the Maverick was also designed in America.
  11. Who started this Maverick forum and who's watching?

Hey Ford! If you're listening, make cyber orange available across all trim levels, preferably free! Thanks Ford!
  12. First out of the chute...

The new Hyundai does look more like its direct competitor is the Ridgeline. Looking at Ridgeline numbers, it doesn't look well for the Hyundai, and it should be no competition for the Mavericks numbers. The Honda never outsold the original Ranger. The Honda has never outsold the new Ranger...
  13. Current Daily Drivers

2002 Explorer XLS 4x4, my winter beater turned daily driver until I take the 2003 Mercury Marauder into Ford to figure out why it wont pass emissions. I also have a big project 1972 VW Super Beetle that seems like it'll never see the road again, yet I'm too stubborn to give up and sell it. A...
  14. Maverick vs Hyundai Santa Cruz

I agree, it is both bogus and sad the Maverick isnt made here, but I look at the bigger picture with all the profits going to an American company at least. When I can afford to step up to bigger, American made Ford products, i certainly will!
  15. Why do you want a Maverick?

Why do i want one? TBH, ive always had used cars, im 35 now, have what i think is my career set and am getting more financially comfortable. I'm getting married next year, so while i dont think I'll be first in line for a first year Mav, it looks like it would be a great replacement to my almost...
  16. Maverick vs Hyundai Santa Cruz

For 30k+, it would make more sense to just get a Ranger, for about 31k the Ranger can be had with AWD and four full doors.
  17. Maverick vs Hyundai Santa Cruz

The front is better looking than the side profile IMO, and it seems to be pretty capable, but its basically starting at an MSRP of 150% the Maverick. Option the Maverick ten thousand more dollars and im betting you'll have a better looking, more capable truck, made by an American company.
  18. Features : Need/Want/Don't

The price difference between the base Escape and the hybrid is about $2800, seems justifiable, but the diff between the base and the plug in is $7,765. Considering i can buy a lot of gas with $7765, that plugging it in still costs fuel money, and that insurance will also be substantially higher...
  19. What color is your Maverick?

If you make a point of wanting only a specific color, a good dealership will find one within reasonable driving distance, and trade one of theirs for the one you want from another dealer, then sell you that one.
  20. Features : Need/Want/Don't

Need: 4x4 or AWD, big enough/wide enough 4 door for my 6'3" 220 pound self and family, and close to that 20k msrp (knowing AWD will be extra) Want: Lots of color choices instead of greyscale, autostart, available "winter package" with heated seats/WeatherTech floor mats/block heater(?), CD...
