Lots of things to worry about on a new platform like the Maverick. Long term reliability of the turbo. Interaction of the different systems (I. E. Emergency braking and transmission line this thread), long term reliability of different systems like radio, lights, etc.
But the overall...
Sorry it happened, glad you're ok. I'm still trying to wrap my head around incident and how it wrecked the transmission. So lady is turning, and it is going to cause an accident. Truck emergency brakes to avoid. How is the transmission involved? Were you still giving it gas? Evasive steering?
Best water tight, close tailgate first. But you can do it either way. If I'm in and out of tailgate I just keep it latched. But if calling for rain or going to be a while I unlatch, close tailgate, press down. You just have to unlatch the cover to get the seal on top, pretty easy. Then push it...
Yeah, I saw some of that data with a Google search after I posted. Still not sure I believe that data, I'd be curious to see the footnotes and Asterix make that up. But it wasn't BS in the post itself so I'll concede that.
Of all the reasons to not buy a vehicle... getting made they drop an outdated and largely obsolete feature used by very few. As was stated, just stream internet radio if it's that big of a deal.
But hey, it's America choose the vehicle you want for whatever reason you want.
I've driven F150s and much prefer the Maverick. I just returned a Ram 2500 rental, and hated it. Much prefer my Maverick.
It is about diversification of the truck market. Hit different price points, options, and needs. Ford wants to sell as many of them as they can. Would they prefer to sell...
One tailgate tie down gone... And suddenly you can't have fun with the truck? I didn't blink at removing a tailgate tie down. I don't tie down to objects that can move (like a tailgate). I have a rack and put the kayak on that, strapped down to rack, tow hook in front, and tow hitch in back.
Glad you agree with me, as does this link. We agree a receipt for buying oil for self maintenance isn't needed. This link gives good tips for if you do have to go to battle with a manufacturer. But as it says these are not required for a warranty to be preserved or honored.
Glad you came around!
Straight from The Magnuson Moss Act

They cannot force you to provide service records in...
You are under no obligation to provide service records or receipts to have warranty coverage. It is the requirement for the party denying the claim to validate why. If they can show that improper servicing caused the issue then no amount of receipts will help... Because you did it yourself, good...
On the trim and noise comments, this must be an XLT issue. My Lariat is very quiet, more so than any Tacoma I have driven. And I find the fit and finish of the Lariat and Tacoma about the same.
Otherwise I agree. Especially on the sluggish engine and strange cab design of the Tacoma. Maverick...
Not is it as easy for the manufacturer to deny a claim as many make out. The onus is on the manufacturer to show you screwed up, not on you to prove correct. Don't get me wrong, improper denials happen, but with some pressure and the truth on your side you should be able to make it right. Now if...
