  1. 500K mile comparison between Synthetic and Conventional Oil on EcoBoost engine

I was more discussing the 2022 with 133k miles - I'd think that could handle 5k OCI on "dino" (most oils that meet required specs for newest vehicles are semi-syn) b/c they changed the oil 26 times in 2 ish years (if using 5k OCI). That was 1-2 months per OCI !
  2. 500K mile comparison between Synthetic and Conventional Oil on EcoBoost engine

I think you're being facetious / sarcastic? That many miles in that short a time - syn vs semi won't matter one bit. Those are very likely easy hwy miles (or even lots of around town sales stuff and few cold starts) and changing the oil at 5k would be a waste of time and money.
  3. Lowest total cost to own

Yeah the value that old Tacos demand is simply crazy. In 2022 and 2023 a hybrid Maverick was one of the cheapest hybrid vehicles you could purchase. Similar price to a Corolla hybrid. For those of us that got a hybrid truck for under $25k, I think that will still be worth something in 10...
  4. Lowest total cost to own

Taco's high resale value is the only reason it gets a low cost of ownership. If you drive lots of miles and/or live where gas is $$$ - Taco isn't cheap. I've ran the numbers before and never wanted to spend $ on a truck until the Maverick came along.
  5. Might be time to sell.

Would you buy a 2023 Hybrid Maverick with 27k miles for $26,400, today? If no, your answer is to sell.
  6. 500K mile comparison between Synthetic and Conventional Oil on EcoBoost engine

Don't bother. It's really a hobby. You won't learn anything that's all that useful. Stick to the oil change interval the truck tells ya, with synthetic (required for hybrid) and worry about more important things.
  7. U.S. made aftermarket parts?

Well my truck was hecho en Mexico, so I don't mind mixing global parts for better prices. Almost all the upgrades are made overseas - plastic bits for interior, lighting kits, most tonneau covers, etc. I think there's no list bc it would be hard to produce and pretty short.
  8. New Tires; Worse Gas Mileage. Anyone Else Get This?

I'm a cheap, penny pincher... but would never throw off-brand tires on my vehicles. Cost per mile is not much more when you get a quality, lasting tire. Walmart cheap crap is fine if you're selling or turning in your lease.
  9. Car inflation:

Criminal? No. See post above. Fight the disinformation.
  10. Car inflation:

Do they *have* to live there? As in 736 sq ft, new build, apartment? No. They could have roommates, they could find a smaller, cheaper, older apartment. They could commute farther. All the things I did for many years before ever buying a new vehicle and later a 'house' (condo - b/c its SoCal...
  11. 2022 Hybrid - First time topping off coolant but different color?

Under warranty - I'd have the dealer top it off to save $ buying matching coolant and to have it on the record. Minus is that its a waste of time to visit the dealer.
  12. Where to buy this hitch cover?

    It's called virtue signaling.
  13. Using Maverick Technology vs your own driving skills.

Yup. I trust the "nannies" more than other driver's abilities. My Mav wouldn't have been rear ended if the other vehicle was newer and using ACC and/or had AEB. More safety features throughout the "public fleet" can prevent accidents and keep insurance rates lower - but only if a lot of vehicles...
  14. Car inflation:

No cell phones in 1952, let alone so many other "standard" things in our lives now. The first flat screen TV cost like $20k - now we have multiple ones in a home, even if you're not "rich". Homes are larger than before. Etc, etc. Americans love to CONSUME. That drives up prices. Want less...
  15. Secondary cat / resonator delete - removed

Another good point. Living up to your username. Well done.
  16. Secondary cat / resonator delete - removed

We all breathe the same air. You keep showing your IQ. Lol
  17. Secondary cat / resonator delete - removed

Amazing. butt-dyno must be well-calibrated. Civic guys knew that noise = HP decades ago.
  18. Hard to find EB Ecoboost engine cover found new online

    Weird personal finance priorities.
  19. What are we going to do about this?

Whew - DIY is the way to go. (y) I'm annoyed if I pay for ceramic tint and we don't keep the vehicle long. $1k for ceramic coating would really annoy me (my cheapness), especially on a $24k truck. I barely do a spray wax once a year - wish I motivated to ceramic coat our vehicles.
