I’ve never really considered because I like the convenience of the FordPass app, but this has merit. It could easily be accomplished using a relay with power to the module passing through the NC contact. Pull in the relay coil when the vehicle is on, which disconnects power to the module...
SOC probably is not. I’ve never seen less that approximately 30%. 4.53 is the firmware I am using. There is variation in SOC, and SOC. Are you using the one on the top of the list?
I’ve considered an oil filter cutout on my hybrid. With the shield off I noticed it doesn’t like to drain straight down. Do you have any problems like that?
I agree with your assessment and reason behind going XLT. I ordered a 23 XLT hybrid with the sliding rear window and a hitch. When the order bank closed after 3 or 4 days I tracked down a zero option XL hybrid because I wasn’t sure my XLT would be built. In the 350 or so days I waited for the...
yes, a Bluetooth windows laptop. Paired it in control panel, then forscan found it on its own.
Be careful, I had previously paired it to my phone. My first attempt at pairing failed because the dongle connected to the phone. I had to turn off BT on the phone, then pair to the laptop.
I have a USB/OBD cable that I had used on my 2022 to make these changes. I went out to make the changes to my newly acquired 23 hybrid and the version of forscan wouldn’t recognize the vehicle. I updated to the latest version of forscan, and it wouldn’t allow me to use my older USB/OBD cable...
In my 23 hybrid I changed at 2000, then will trust the OLM like I did on my 22 hybrid. Sometimes it would go out over 10k miles. I’ll do black stone analysis like I do for my power stroke to make sure everything is in line.
I expect the dealer just tells their tech to go out 5k on every oil...
I had a 2022 Xl hybrid that I put 50k on, the only issue I encountered was the exhaust heat exchanger, which was covered under warranty. I would consider a 10-12k mile warranty on a used purchase if the factory B-B was expired just in case someone dumped a lemon. I voted no
The Curt adapter is plug and play. No splicing, except for power into the 12v bed harness pigtail. I purchased the ford accessory lighting adapter and it required splicing into the turn and brake light wires.
What just happened here? Last I remember, someone was being a grumpy old GM guy and called the OP a flipper. A couple people called him out on it, and now it’s gone?!?
Mavforever, that’s fantastic, we’re in a weird time. I had a similar experience. I traded my zero factory option 22 XL...
