Late-build 2022 with 48k miles. FX4 with 4K tow. Have had a few recalls but the biggest thing has just been getting the CV axles replaced (under a "recall"). Has been a great truck and the best all-round vehicle I've ever owned.
OP, sorry to hear about your transmission. However, I also think your anger is misplaced and you should have had at least one fluid change by this mileage.
There are cheaper routes than the dealer. In fact, I would avoid the dealer like my life depended on it.
Also, to one of your statements...
Fees are a bit out there. However, the fact you have an OTD price that's lower than the original MSRP (so, not even OTD yet) is good. At least through the dealer's eyes, it's a win-win. You get a better OTD price, but they still get some $$ from the transaction through their fees.
Honestly...
On your previous tank right before this, did you get lower gas mileage than normal (whether through hauling, towing, idling, etc)? The behavior you describe here sounds typical of when you have a lower mileage tank, then on the next tank you get back to normal/higher mileage driving. If this...
Bottom line, dealer only ever gets the privilege of having my truck if it's for warranty work. Otherwise, I avoid any dealer like the plague. They usually end up messing up more stuff while it's there...
Lol! But that's interesting as I've noticed the same thing. It's like all of the A51 Mavs have gone away. Feel like I mostly see white and Alto Blue Mavs.
No need to reconfigure the phone after. It is just a reboot of the system in the truck to get past the hangup. All this is, is a bug in the Maverick's infotainment system that is fixed by rebooting the radio. Yes it's annoying and Ford should try to implement a patch to fix this bug.
Thanks! I agree, and at the time there was still no Tremor yet, so this combo was the "truckiest" Maverick you could get. I too feel like I rarely see an FX4 Mav.
Interesting topic of discussion for sure!
Just kind of thinking out loud (I'm not a motor oil chemist LOL) but I definitely don't think running modern oils in an old engine like that would be bad. I'd just up the weight or add some Lucas or Hyper-Lube with each fill. Still might not last...
Agree with you on that principle, but still doesn't apply to this situation with a bike due to it's light weight (won't even come close to 500 lbs dynamic load). If you had a load of bricks on the tailgate, or another object with much more mass, then yes that would be a concern.
When this happens, just do a reboot of the system. Press and hold the seek-forward button and power button at the same time until the screen goes black. Once it boots back up it will be working again.
26 here. Was 23 when I bought my Maverick brand new. XLT with FX4 and 4K tow. I needed something with a bed but an F150 is more than I need, and even the newer Rangers are a bit too big for my needs. It was just perfect timing with the Maverick coming out. Good MPG, enough utility for what...
