I'm pretty handy, so it wouldn't scare me to build one myself.
I'd search Facebook marketplace or Craigslist for an old fiberglass tonneau of basically ANY size (because you know it's bigger than a Maverick!).
Figure out your hinge system first, then start cutting the old tonneau. Fiberglass...
That's one thing I don't struggle with. I simply have an idea of what I want then resesrch it... and it all changes!
I had planned to do a powered Kicker 10" but I just KNOW it won't have enough bass for me. If I spec a sub, amp and build a box and there's not enough bass then I just get to be...
Regarding sub selection, Rockford Fosgate replied to me this morning on which amp to choose.
Here's their reply: We would suggest the P3SD4-10 powered by the R2-250X1 amplifier. The PBR300X1 would work, but the R2-250X1 is a better amp for that application.
Going shopping now. 😁
Not had, HAVE. 😁 Still sitting outside my shop waiting to be built. I have all of my old stereo equipment for it too, including an Eclipse 412, HiFonics amps, Orion subs....
Just for my own reference (and yours if you care) I installed the following speakers:
Front: Rockford Fosgate R165-S (door speakers and dash tweeters)
Rear: Rockford Fosgate R14X2 (pillar speakers)
They're definitely cleaner than the OEM speakers but limited by deck power. The tweeters are...

On 1/2 I put the above mentioned Fosgate speakers in after doing the math for an underseat 10"...
Thanks. They're from a Ford Escape, they're 19x8. I had them sandblasted and powder coated, but could have bought a set of custom aftermarket wheels much cheaper. Didn't matter much, this is what I envisioned and wanted.
Just an update, I've been cutting holes in my new truck this afternoon.
I would have definitely preferred hidden tweeters but I'm not willing to do that much surgery today. 😁

I'm at 71 miles now And can give some early feedback on this. Driving roads familiar to me and having had a stock XL EcoBoost since October I think I'm pretty well qualified to answer.
Ride is damn near stock for almost every situation. It does feel more firm on larger bumps, but never...
I think you're incorrectly translating "performance" to mean "fast." The manufacturers refer to performance as "peak efficiency" not the butt dyno.
Even Sport Mode isn't referred to as "fast" in the manual.
