Have to have it programmed by Ford. If you order one make you select install then its only $24 online. They have a special tool they have to use to sync it with your truck the first time.
Seems plausible. Let's rip out all the F-150 equipment (the most profitable line) put in equipment to build Mavericks (Fords smallest margin vehicle) build a few Mavericks and then tear that all out again and put the F-150 line back in service. Yep, definitely happened.
Not a necessity, but really nice especially for my wife and kids who like to let it slam open. This will eventually break even the best built stuff. Didn't add any noticeable difference to closing either.
Look for X-plan pricing. If your son doesn't qualify for it at his work join Mustang Club of America for one year. This will knock a couple hundred off the price of the Maverick and limit dealer fees to $150. Saved me $800 total on my Mav.
Wish my 2015 CX-5 had this as both my daughters learned to drive (and park in a garage) on it and so I have replaced the passenger side mirror twice now.
