Wouldn't it be fun to be employed at @Ford Motor Company in a role that is responsible for ERP, allocations, and factory scheduling? They have posted several product manager positions that appear to be part of this team that I have applied to without luck (so far). I think it would be fun to get...
First of all, thank you for reading my post and taking the time to challenge it. Your argument is well thought out and articulate.
I am basing the 100,000 annual production on Maverick sales and production numbers. Take a look at the last several months, and you will see Ford has been producing...
Well said. Plus, did anyone notice when the OP joined?
The OP joins MTC just to complain that they have to wait, fails to do enough research to understand why Ford cannot divulge the complexity of JIT ERP, and thinks they are entitled to communication from Ford.
OP... You are not entitled to...
If you had to track them down, you need to involve the police and their insurance.
Don't mess around with the "...can't we settle this without involving insurance since you will NEVER get paid..."
They need to get a ticket and to have their insurance pay for the repairs.
I am in southern California. So, I didn't order the AWD for snow, rain, etc.
I have a 1999 Land Rover Discovery SE7 for going off-road... So, that is not why either.
I bought it for two reasons: 1) I wanted the tow package, and 2) I wanted the better rear suspension for the better ride.
I think people are missing the point... Ford still has a bunch of available capacity.
Let's say, for our example that Ford plans on producing 100K Mavericks (conservatively; assumes no impact from the strike).
55% Hybrid capacity = 55K; 69% of 47K = 32.5K => 22.5K additional capacity.
45% EB...
Update for 2023 September 1
As a reminder, submitting a form about your purchase experience -- and your new 2024 ordering experience in some cases -- is essential to gathering useful and meaningful information. I am not skimming this post for dealership recommendations. I am only updating the...
I agree with @wax87
I think your reasoning takes away an opportunity from someone else who has an order and plans on buying it. If you cancel the order, the allocation Ford gave to Granger that resulted in your truck being scheduled could be opened back up and assigned to another Granger...
I would notify Granger that you have decided not to purchase it. If allocation decisions are based on sales to the person on the COVP, Granger may decide to cancel the order instead of have it come in. Give them the option to decide what to do with it.
Too bad it's not at the other end of the...
I bought back my 2005 Ford Ranger Supercab XLT 4x2 from my dad a few months ago. I drove it back to CA from NC. Like many of you, I marveled at how good the Ranger is compared to my Maverick. I don't need a crew cab -- I need a longer bed.
The Maverick is wonderful. Yet, I don't need the crew...
I maintain a Google spreadsheet with the information. You can DM me for the link.
If I post the link here, the forum automatically converts into a display of the spreadsheet. It doesn't allow me to leave it in URL format.
Yes, you can change the color. And, no, it won't impact the scheduling.
If you get a chance, check out some of the informative videos produced by Tim Bartz at Long McArthur Ford in Salina, Kansas (@fordvideoguy).
I recall he just answered this question. And, I believe he is going to talk...
We went in the opposite direction with our 2024 order. We configured what we wanted -- an XL Hybrid -- knowing we might have to wait until the end of the model year run or not get it during the 2024 model year.
We waited eleven months to get the 2022 XL Hybrid. I didn't like it, sold it less...
Note that I have some catching up to do. I have been traveling a lot during the last several weeks.
Send me a private message to get the link since I have not figured out how to prevent the forum from converting the link into displaying the spreadsheet in a message.
The spreadsheet can be...
