If you live in California, you must buy a Ford warranty from a Ford franchise dealer in California due to recently passed legislation. The legislation was passed sometime this year since I was able to buy my extended warranty from Granger Ford (Iowa) in January -- I am in Orange County, California.
Although the sale was resolved at a level the OP was willing to accept; the warning was already submitted. I think this dealer should still come with a warning. As such, I am not amending the list of dealerships.
This is a list of dealerships that people who have bought -- or attempted to buy -- their retail orders and either had a good experience (Recommended) or want to warn people about before they place their retail orders (Warning).
Please submit your dealer recommendation (or warning) using the...
I sold my 22 XL Hybrid to a MTC forum member.
The member who bought mine responded to someone who advertised a hybrid Maverick on MTC for $10K over the MSRP. The member who bought mine countered the seller with a $5K markup which the seller rejected.
I reached out to him and said I would sell...
If I plug-in 45 MPG City for Hybrid and 22 MPG City for EB,
If I plug-in an average of $3.25/gallon,
It would take 21,356 miles to pay off the hybrid.
I have been keeping track of miles/day and it would take me almost two years (490 days) at $4.58/gallon. In other words, it still pays to get...
This is, unfortunately, still happening all over the US (almost 20 dealership warnings now). If you don't have a mutually executed contract in writing, they can offer to sell them to you at any price they want.
I don't know your situation. I would walk away and let them have both.
Hopefully...
I thought it would be fun to build a calculator to determine how many miles you need to drive to justify the $1500 hybrid premium.
Number of Miles = (($1500/ Avg_$/Gallon) * Hybrid_MPG) / ((Hybrid_MPG / Ecoboost_MPG) - 1)
If I use the Car & Driver Average MPG figures:
Hybrid: 42 City & 33...
You are blaming Ford for the dealer's tactics. Blame the dealership's owners and ensure you avoid any dealership they own without regard to the marque or manufacturer.
For example, I have seen several warnings coming from different parts of the US stating that a certain US national chain has a...
I am checking in from (north) Irvine.
Shadow Black 2023 XLT EB AWD BAP 4KTow with an A.R.E MX-series (mid-rise) shell (pictures of the truck in the Forum for sale section).
2023 Maverick with the following factory options:
XLT Ecoboost ($24,455 + $1,495 delivery and destination)
300A AWD ($2,220)
4K Tow Package ($745)
Ford Co-Pilot360 ($650)
Black Appearance Package ($1,645)
Total MSRP $31,585
It would cost you more to replicate for the 2024 Model Year since the...
I was making preparations to get another Maverick for my son. I was looking at an XL Hybrid or giving him my XLT EB AWD to get a Lariat Tremor.
A twist of fate has intervened. My in-laws gave my son their 2004 Toyota LE V6 Camry with 43K miles. Plus, they just spent approximately $5K getting it...
So far... You should also note that there are no dealers with a warning either. We know that thousands of Mavericks are being sold each month. We need more MTC members to share their experiences using the Google form so we can build up a lot of data.
Greetings from central Orange County, California!
After a few hundred miles, I purchased a 2022 XL Hybrid and decided that I didn't like the rear suspension or the CVT that comes with the hybrid. I sold it to an MTC member living in Los Angeles.
I ordered a 2023 Maverick when the order banks...
Thank you. I see your submission with several others that have come in. I try to update the list at least once per week. As such, I am making updates today.
