  1. How many guitars can you put in a Maverick's bed?

Still doesn't match the couple of dozen that Pete Townshend can fit . . . 😲
  2. UPGRADED to AGM Battery (and LARGER capacity) in Maverick Hybrid

Almost. The most important is choosing, "Anything but motorcraft!" 🤔
  3. How to disable automatic Electric Brake when backing down a hill with door open.

It's too late now, but the 360 view solves this. Part of what you get is a synthesized view from above, showing a black shadow around your vehicle and a lockdown on everything around you. It' great for tight parking. My only complaint is that shifting into forward shuts it off; it should stay...
  4. Ford Announces Nationwide Employee Pricing For All To Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary

However, he also gets "holdbacks" and such, eventually. Which is a big part of why dealers like granger can sell below invoice without losing money.
  5. Hybrid Revs Coasting Down Hill

Same thing as "Georgia overdrive" and "Mexican overdrive." It's putting it 9n neutral and coasting, and being proud of yourself for the slight savings at the expense of having your engine available for an emergency (and a high-speed shift if driving an automatic).
  6. Hybrid running E85

uh, no. But you could if you diluted it with water. You don't need to get all the way to 100% before you hit the point that it will do damage going down, and then to where it ends up. Getting it beyond 95% (iirc. or is it 90?) takes serious effort, and it will interact with pretty much...
  7. Maverick Hybrid engine pre-heater, any ideas for a DIY solution?

Actually, a quarter, not half. Current is proportional to voltage applied, and wattage/power is voltage times current. That is, power goes up with the square of voltage. Anyway, IF your circuit can handle the power for which the resistive heating unit is rated, you could simply use a 120:240...
  8. Only dumb people buy Ford Mavericks.....

As a random aside, horsepower isn't related to what a horse does. IIIRC, an actual horse can do about 7 "horsepower" . . .
  9. No 91 octane fuel in my area

knock, not ping. On the hybrid, there is absolutely no point in going past 87 unless you're actually getting knock--at which point you should have it towed to a mechanic rather than driving it! Higher octane allows higher pressure without "detonation". The Ecoboost, and many other modern...
  10. Just a thought on the auto-hold brake feature

Gosh, just advance the hand throttle a bit! Of course, you may also have to readjust the spark advance on the other side of the wheel a bit, too . . . 😜 Anyway, I generally like having the auto hold, but I think it needs to release with a lighter touch of the throttle--I have to turn it off...
  11. Safe to leave a key fob in the truck?

    Hammer, brick, . . . 😜
  12. Only dumb people buy Ford Mavericks.....

My car hauler is about 1,500, leaving 2,500. Also, my interest at the moment is vey short range--about 7 miles at 35mph. (I'm still going to borrow something to haul my 1972 Eldorado!) My "rule of thumb" comes from the changes in reported HP from 1971 to 1972 GM, particularly the Eldorado...
  13. More invasive Ford patents

when using dictation with it in my hand. I have no idea what it does on this when I'm in the trucklet.
  14. Coffee Break Message??

I've had it within the first couple of hundred feet--and the first hundred is in reverse! Let's leave my digestion out of this!
  15. Blinding reflection off bonnet

Ahh, but the important question is, can they see octarine?
  16. Extended Warranty - worth it?

And then go do research to see why it's wrong? 🤔 Anyway, I'm generally rabidly anti-extended warranty. It's generally one of the two worst insurance deals (the other being collision damage waiver on a rental car). "Worst" as in "lowest percentage of premium paid on claims." I acknowledge two...
  17. Only dumb people buy Ford Mavericks.....

If she sees, this, I put $20 on 24 years and 3 days! :teehee: I got a light hauler for the moment (after losing months to waffling, I just bought the cheapest one on my list, figuring to replace it once I understand what I want, and needing to be able to shuffle between back gate over desert...
  18. Blinding reflection off bonnet

A broad brimmed hat helps, too. In particular, a full western (cowboy) hat with maximal downturn in the font. Oh, and make sure you get the full 5" brim, not the shorter brim on lesser and inexpensive hats. In combination with full drop on the visor, you are able to tilt your head a bit to...
  19. More invasive Ford patents

I can't even count the number of times that she has taken my dictation directly, and then applied autodistort to change it a couple of seconds later as my thumb is going down on the send button . . .
  20. Tailgate spoiler

oh, no! Are you going to follow up by throwing him in the briar patch? 🤔 We don't need no steenkin' scientific method! Anyway, one can always supplement the spoiler by putting a 5.0 on the front fenders for extra power!
