Example of a 5 min drive. However, I did have the vehicle on the trickle charger in the afternoon (shows full) and went for 5 short trips around the city, this is roughly 24h later. My NOCO G7200 was attached to the battery and after the BMS sensor. Could be failing and thinks the battery is...
My best guess the BMS thinks your battery has a low SoC or voltage and was that way before the trip. Reset might help after charging the battery.
The BMS system is suppose to determine the State of Charge of the battery. However, from what I found it's not always accurate. You can reset the BMS...
Alternator isn't the problem at least from what I found. The battery management system only allows a certain about of AMPs to come from the alternator to charge the battery. Likely due to fuel savings. The battery is only suppose to charge up to 80%, but, the State of Charge can drop 10% easily...
The Maverick infotainment system Sync Lite is a bitch to update and connect to a network. Though, it seems the dealership should be able to update the ACM (SYNC Lite only) via Ford Diagnosis and Repair System Tool (FDRS), at least according to their TSBs. Not confirmed.
First time I tried using...
The Hybrids do also have a way smaller battery and potentially a bad negative terminal on the fuse block.
Problem is the issue compounds with the fact the truck doesn't charge the battery much, if any, due to the BdyCM/PCM and fuel economy. Mine bounces around from -1A to 3/4A during the drive...
Ah no, I meant the 3rd party access. Like HomeAssistant or FordPass iOS Widget (not official app by Ford). There are others, none that I can foresee that apply to the Maverick afaik.
FordPass shouldn't access the vehicle unless you have the app open on your phone and refreshing it.
FORScan...
Down the rabbit hole I go.
Seems like I had at least two issues. BMS reset and reconfiguration of the battery seems to have reset the State of Charge (SoC).
Dashcam Parking Mode (disabled and unplugged for now)
FordPass API Polling Rate (increased from 300 to 10,800 seconds)
The latter issue...
Yeah, looks like my dashcam regardless if I have the parking mode enabled will drain the battery, I need to hook up both the accessory and permanent 12V supply to an ignition enabled fuse.
Dashcam will not turn on without both connected. Stupid design.
Auto Start/Stop was an issue for me...
The newest version freezes the least in my experience. You will see hitches here and there, but, I've only had to do a soft reset maybe 3-4 times since the update.
It does make Android Auto way more stable by reducing the amount of times you need to unplug and replug your phone.
While this is true. The idiom, Don't fix what's not broken, can apply to a lot things and is fine. Likewise, this type of thinking isn't sustainable, else we'd be stuck with infotainment systems without Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Well at least in my opinion.
Updating your phone generally...
Ford hasn't made the update available as a public link. The only thing you'll find is versions for EU Ford vehicles with Sync 2.5/Lite, which I'm not sure if they'll work for the Maverick.
The issue at least I have with deep sleep has been related to using a 12V tire inflator (20A). Apparently, you cannot directly clamp onto the battery terminals. The negative clamp has to be on a ground, on the remote post near the strut tower, or after the battery sensor.
Or having the dashcam...
From what I can gather on Forscan, assuming your battery management system is calibrated and correct. Which can be a challenge in itself, even with a battery charger is hooked correctly on the negative remote post, the vehicle is not updating the State of Charge.
The Body Control Module is set...
I got the EcoBoost, I get give or take 2-3 days, before I start getting the message. I believe the battery is slightly larger.
The cold weather isn't helping, seems to make it worse. :cautious:
@EMD_Driver Out of curiosity, for the dashcam do you run time-lapse/parking mode?
Got a different dashcam, 70Mai A800S, followed your instructions, which were great by the way, thanks.
An issue I've ran into is the Maverick seems to go into deep-sleep mode if you enable the above functions...
I got a glass one that's made by Spigen. Makes the display have a matte look which helps cut down on glare.
However, it does make the display less sharp, like going from 1080p to 720p. This is noticeable in the daytime than the evening.
There are other one's that are clear, but, they appear to...
Once the update finishes downloading and starts the install you can walk away. You should be updated next morning, can take 8-12 hours before you get the update chime or see a new version.
When downloading it is a pain as if the vehicle shuts off, on/accessories position, the download starts...
Hotspot to your phone is usually sufficient. Stay with the vehicle with it in accessory mode. To finish the download at least.
However, the update process is a pain if you first connect to a weak WiFi signal or whatnot. First, it takes forever and can fail midway. Second, if you try connecting...
The image below has the software update version when downloading.
However, the new version that shows on the infotainment is: G2.0.0.1_R22285A.
