This dude uses the word "objectively," then says the Maverick is a whimp for hauling.
Mavericks have roughly the same payload capacity as the Ranger and like 300lbs more than the Tacoma.
I do not think that word means what he thinks it means.
Oh for sure, recent inflation has "risen all boats." Ford's choice to bring Maverick's pricing more in line with the rest of their fleet (the part of the equation I referenced) is just one piece of the price raising story. And as long as large corporations continue to take advantage of...
A mistake by raising the price?
They may be. I'm interested to see how the market reacts.
It sounds like much of 2024's production will be sold at 2023 pricing to fill roll over orders. The real test will be 2025. No rollovers. No cost consessions. If Ford can't sell all the trucks they can...
Well, my choice was pay an extra few grand to get a truck off the lot in 2022 or buy an interim vehicle, wait at least 1.5 years (and counting) and pay more at MSRP for the exact same vehicle. I don't feel idiotic.
My take is that Ford set their original (completely aribitrary) MSRP lower than...
Weird. We smelled ammonia the other day right after starting the truck. It only lasted a minute or two so I thought maybe it was something in our neighborhood.
Got that email, too.
I got really excited because it doesn't look like the typical 45 day message. But...whomp whomp...just Ford reminding me that hope is futile.
We recently bought the REI Wonderland 4 tent. I'm 6'0" and have headroom to spare. Happy to answer other questions about it, but overall it's a great tent.
Made a trip to the local recycling center with my neighbor. Between the two of us we packed the bed with two busted mini-fridges, a broken microwave and an old dishwasher without its cabinet. Everything fit without and inch to spare. I could even close the tailgate (forgot to take a picture). I...
Great review and I share the love.
Have now hauled 1k+ lbs of rock multiple times in my hybrid Mav. I could only tell it was back there when trying to take corners at speed because I forget about the weight.
I paid $5k over for an XLT hybrid in Aug '22. I didn't feel great about it at the time, but two realizations have since confirmed my decision.
First, MSRP is an arbitrary number made up by the mfg. It's based, in large part, on what the maker feels market value will be. For a F-150 with decades...
FWIW, I have had the ProX 15 installed for several months and I really like it. It was very easy to install. It doesn't block the rear window. It's 99(.9?) waterproof with just a tiny trickle in one rear corner and a small bit that comes in at the tailgate (not nearly enough to soak even quarter...
Maybe I didn't hold the panic button down long enough to turn it off.
In my older Fusion I just had to hit the button once to turn it off. I'll have to test that.
That makes sense.
Only weird thing is that several other new non-Fords nearby were unaffected.
But maybe the vibration was fairly localized...like loud music base or something.
Sitting at a coffee shop and hear the honking of a car alarm. Realize it's my Maverick. Tried hitting buttons on the keyfob...do dice.
Here's where it gets weird (at least to me).
I head outside and notice a new Bronco parked behind me, also with the alarm raging. The Bronco's owner was there...
