Ended up getting a rigid matte black aluminum license plate frame from Amazon. Turns out it looks really nice and keeps the plate from bending in the future.
It measures engine coolant temperature and if you have the bars on your instrument cluster, according to prior MTC posts, below is what they indicate:
1 bar illuminates at 100 F;
2 bars at 140 F;
3 bars at 160 F;
4 bars at 180.
Iāve never seen my Mav Lariat go above four bars.
After getting some MTC thoughts, I now think it was the dealership car wash but, I donāt know how you could miss seeing this. It sticks out like a sore thumb. I hate the plastic dealership advertisement plate frames and I always tell them to leave it off because Iāll just remove it anyway...
Similar occurrence, about a week ago, here as well. Went around a left turner, coming in the opposite direction that drifted into my lane at a green light, and once I passed the turner and had a completely clear lane in front of me, the collision alert went off after I was 20 yards passed the...
Good point. They did wash it but, the rear plate was nearly completely folded over on itself so Iām not sure how a wash brush would do that much bending out and down particularly since the rear plate is recessed. My wife bent it halfway back prior to the pic so picture it bent towards...
So I take Mav to the dealership for the first oil change since Iām getting too old to climb under these things anymore. First, I actually have to correct them regarding the oil for a hybrid Mav vs the Ecoboost. That didnāt give me a whole lot of confidence. When I pick up Mav, I confirm...
Just had the recalls completed by the Ford mobile service for the signal outage and running light outage and the tech connected an external 12v power source before he even started. Whole process took about 20 minutes. No worries on charging the 12v battery ahead of the recall work. Just...
Nope. No recalls done so far. I have two recalls related to tail lights and turn signal scheduled for the mobile fix later this month. BCM coding is way out of my comfort zone.
Exact same issue with my 23 Lariat with the front dash 12v outlet for my volt meter. Used to turn off when I opened the driver door and spontaneously, about 2 months ago, it stays on for well over an hour. After an hour+ I pulled the volt meter out because it was not turning off and I didnāt...
I was told a similar opportunity by the dealer with a mysterious ceramic coating that worked at the sub-atomic level of the paint and Iād never have to wash the truck for its lifetime. I almost had to leave the office to laugh out loud.
No rust on my ā23 Hybrid Lariat even after a salty New England winter. I hit the undercarriage with SaltAway, using a tank sprayer, in spring to prevent corrosion and remove any salt deposits. I would usually follow up with my undercarriage pressure wash bar but, I hesitate to use it on Mav...
Meguires Ultimate Liquid Polish once a year and Tech Shine with each wash; Meguires Gold Class car wash. Interior is for Chemical Guys Nonsense Super Cleaner and Guardsman Dust Cloth for more delicate dashboard areas. Lastly, Turtle Wax Glass Cleaner for the windows.
Love Tech Shine. Use it with every wash. Easiest 15 minutes to wax between my annual Meguires Ultimate application. TS works well on all parts of the Mav. No worries on the black trim or even the bed cover. Great UV protection as well.
I only measure the voltage via a plug in meter on the front dash outlet. After a five hour drive today, the meter read 12.5v after shutdown and opening the door. Usually after charging I get to 12.8v to 13.1v just before startup. I donāt have a volt meter for the battery. When I lose...
I really like the charger. Iāve only needed to attach for 3-4 hours to reach the solid green charge indicator from the first red indicator. Havenāt needed to use the repair function and hoping I never have to on the 12v.
Great idea. I didnāt even think about that. The positive terminal is 5/16 (8mm) threaded post which is an easy size to find in heat and weather resistant silicon vacuum caps. A nice substitute if/when the flimsy red cover breaks off.
