Changed out my OEM 390 CCA battery for the Delco LN1 AGM. Took my time. Biggest PITA was getting the positive terminal cover off. But ….. idiot me dropped my tool across the terminals as I was loosening clamps on the OEM battery and a small spark jumped up. UGH !!! Did the BMS reset...
Exact same issue for me too. Mav went to sleep after sitting parked for a few days. No dome/dash/courtesy lights when I opened the door and no notification from the app. Truck still started. I have an AGM to install, just waiting for a bit cooler weather. Not sure why the app didn’t...
I have the exact same 390 CCA battery. My build was Oct 2023. Couple deep sleep messages during winter and often no dome lights but it started every time. As soon as the weather warmed, all the issues disappeared. I’m sure they will return with the cold. I have an AC Delco LNG AGM...
Happy to help. AGM ( absorbent glass mat) batteries have been around since the 1980’s and were originally developed for military aircraft. They are virtually spillproof and leakproof and can even be mounted sideways. They are powerful and reliable. It’s not unusual to get up to 10...
Consider putting a third party, quality AGM battery in your hybrid. The Mav Hybrids are already configured for AGM yet Ford put a lead acid battery in the truck because they supposedly ran out of AGMs. Putting an AGM in will be a much better match to the charging algorithm set for the truck...
Typically, I spray the engine, including wires, firewall insulation, and hoses, the wheel wells, and the ground around each of the tires. I also put a rodent deterrent, aromatic pouch (found on Amazon) in the truck bed and just change that out monthly. I have a bed cover so the smell permeates...
Why can’t Mabett simply modify the driver side rear design mudflap to eliminate any gap up to the wheel well? If they offered that one modified mudflap to current Mabett mudflap customers, I would buy that one replacement mudflap in a second! I think others would also, to protect the open...
My Lariat Hybrid performed surprisingly well on some hard pack, single lane gravel roads with up to a 15% grade in some places. Only travelled at 10 to 12 mph but handled the hard pack road/ trail and grade with ease. Ironically I ended up on the unpaved road by accident and traveled nearly...
I saw this also and wish they had shown how they removed the plastic trim. That would have been very helpful. At least one earlier post on MTC talked about removing the under seat trim and ended up breaking off a piece of it.
Other than slightly higher CCA of 560 vs 520 and $3 cheaper on Amazon, is there any other difference between the red label and brown label AC Delco LN1AGM? Warranties are identical. Is one better than the other for the Hybrid Maverick? Confused ……
I’ve read that most, if not all Mavs are already set to an AGM battery regardless of the OEM battery type. That may be part of the problem when they started using regular lead acid batteries after running out of AGMs for new Mavs. I’ve read this in several different places.
I’ve been using this formula, noted in the prior post, for a couple years. The advantage is the fact that it deters through both smell and taste. It is 100% effective when I used to have chipmunks roasting acorns on my engine block. I also routinely spray my treated wood deck joists that...
This is exactly the info/tips I was seeking. I read about the retaining clip and what a PITA it can be. I am assuming that I can’t fit my hand down next the battery to lift the clip out after removing the bolt and return it back in place after the new battery is inserted???
I’ve done a deep search for instructions on how to change the 12v battery in a Hybrid Mav; I’m moving toward the AC Delco AGM. The owners manual is a bit academic on these instructions so I’m looking for “real life” experience on changing out the 12v battery. What went wrong …… what worked...
Happy to. All the items are easily acquired from Amazon. You’ll need one 32 oz, opaque spray bottle. Make sure it’s opaque because essential oils break down faster with light. Fill with 32oz of water. Using separate glass eye droppers, add 4 drops of GARLIC essential oil, 20 drops...
It’s actually very easy, cheap and effective to mix your own spray using essential oils and Castile soap as an emulsifier. I reverse engineered a popular rodent deterrent and have been using my formula for several years now at one twentieth or less than the cost of a premix formula. Happy to...
When I start Mav, I have zero bars until the temp reaches 100 degrees, then the first bar appears. I think the delineation in the dashboard graphic you point to is essentially saying, your engine is cold until the first bar appears after which you’re in a normal operating temp.
