This might be worth metioning. I read a thead some time ago that the Tremor will not come with the upgraded Gear ratio and that would only be avilable on the 4 K tow package. For what it's worth to everone here, on the Ford tracking system under the title Exterior on my order it states (Up...
Not bad . I was thinking of the same idea. I was thinking of using garage door cable. Definitely give a reciprocating saw a problem. I think I would run it further down the pipe on both sides a little more. (y)
Did Ford Email you and give you a VIN# and schedule a production week? If not you should be able to change an option if it is allowable to that trim. I was only allowed to change a color once the vehicle was scheduled. What's the tracking number for? You said you didn't receive a vin right?
Totally agree. Oil soaked air filters past to much dirt. I have used them and taken them off. I would advise individual's not to install them especially on a direct injection engine such as the 2.0L Turbo. The function of the plenum in this engine is just to deliver air with out a fuel charge...
Changing the air intake system in the Maverick with a small displacement 4 cylinder engine is really not worth the time for a hardly noticeable gain. Ramming the air into the intake plenum will be accomplish by the turbo charger starting to spool up at 0 vacuum and then turning into pressure...
The speed of air flowing into the intake of a turbocharge engine is not as critical as it would be in a natural asperated engine because at 0 vacuum boost begins and the turbo does its work however air intake temperature is important in a turbo engine as cooling down the cylinder temperatures...
On my Buick GN I upgraded my intercooler and has a substantial gain in horse power. However I don't think It is really worth your time on the Maverick. And I believe the job is difficult.
To get the most power from the air intake system would be to install a more efficient (larger) intercooler. I would leave everything as is. Leave it alone.:)
