  1. 2029 El Camino to Compete Against Maverick?

I might be willing to give up the small area of the (tight IMO) Mav rear seat area for a 2dr style truck that might even get better MPG if hybrid and lighter weight... maybe even a Ford Ranchero hybrid future car? Either way, competition in the small light truck based vehicle market is always...
  2. 2029 El Camino to Compete Against Maverick?

Interesting....... a little competition can only help in all sorts of ways!
  3. Maverick Hybrid engine pre-heater, any ideas for a DIY solution?

Debated on ordering one on my '26..... but, decided to skip due to past issues and repair costs out of warranty. Do typically order them on all my outdoor kept vehicles if available. Will probably keep my new Mav in garrage.
  4. --

Still waiting on delivery of my new Mav so not sure of all nannys, but, the headlights "auto on" issue is just a DRL feature, right? If so, maybe its because its cheaper to include for "other" markets that require them (CA, EU).....? The AC thing...... would be weird if true. My '23...
  5. Window sticker

I guess there's always a good reason to have extra paper around.....🙃
  6. More snake oil?

  7. Your age / occupation?

    63. IT Engineer (since it was known as Data Processing using punch tape/cards) doing everything from gathering requirements to hardware to software to networking to management. Got started with all of that as a US Army (74F) veteran and service brat.
  8. Theory why Mavericks get rear-ended so much

My wife used to work at the HQ for a OTR trucking company called Yellow Freight. The story was that their fleet (and logo) were painted variations of yellow and orange color over the years specificily to reduce accidents while hauling freight across the country. The company claimed that there...
  9. Maverick Hybrid engine pre-heater, any ideas for a DIY solution?

Read somewhere.. that some have had issues with the OEM installed engine block heater, and replacing them is a PITA and/or costly if not OEM warranty covered.
  10. Dealer Services

From a buddy of mine who worked the dealership gig for 20+ yrs in STL area as a finance manager.... service and parts is were a dealership makes the most money after a sale. During the sale, the finance manager is were one wants to be. And of course, dealership owner is always nice if you got...
  11. With or without the 4K package ???

Similar here... wanted '26 Lariat Hybrid AWD 4K Tow in Ruby Red, ended up finding a dealer ordered in-transit '26 Mav with everything wanted PLUS rear slider (didnt want). But in my case, got the dealer to eat the slider and sell the truck as if without it for invoice. Im sure they wont miss...
  12. My Maverick saved me. Totaled in deer strike @ 75 mph

Actually.... after the bitter news and discussion, we ended up having a good laugh about it. What else could one do? LOL!
  13. My Maverick saved me. Totaled in deer strike @ 75 mph

In the midwest, could be anybody. Lots of deer. 🙄
  14. My Maverick saved me. Totaled in deer strike @ 75 mph

OUCH!😮 My son hit 2 deer once a week apart.... one that sent him to the body shop and another on the way home after picking it up! Whats the odds of that happening?
  15. Trailer towing

Some extra clearity.... for those who want to use electronic sway control and/or lane assist or whatever - your truck, your method to drive as you like. Also, the electronic anti sway may help at the truck, but once that tail starts wagging the dog, thats when things get a little...
  16. Trailer towing

I do not argue the fact that its a safety/emergency system, or, that a truck not hauling any weight will probably ever cause the system to activate. However I do have many miles of experience hauling heavy trailers, both 5th wheels/tow behinds/in-bed with Ford trucks that do and have this...
  17. Trailer towing

All my ford trucks F150's F250's with electronic sway control have turned on automagically as a safety feature at each key cycle.
  18. is there away to change the the chime

I always call the "other half" noise the "Weather Report" because its typically all about the storms brewing in thier head about literally anything! 🫣 Oh and yeah..... some good ole loud rock and roll grounds it out too!😉
  19. Trailer towing

Sa Yup.. . same in all fords.... just that I always turn it off when towing. 😉 However, thought I may have heard/read of a Forscan setting to disable....
  20. Trailer towing

Beware.... from past Fords that have electronic sway control, it uses the anti lock brake system to correct any sway which in turn can wear out rear brakes prematurely if towing alot. Would recommend a WDH sized for your Maverick instead - if towing heavy loads frequently. I always turn that...
