  1. Cracked Windshield Thanks to Carwash

And those 70s-90's car washes had stiff bristles that scratched the hell out of your car. Some free deal.
  2. What would you do? Upgrade to a CPO or not?

So for another $2,300, you are getting a vehicle that is 1 year newer, has the lux pkg, has new brakes & tires and has bed rails along with a bump in warranty. Go for it.
  3. Cracked Windshield Thanks to Carwash

Can car washes actually dissolve themselves of any damage to your vehicle ? I know they put up signs that say they are not responsible for damage to your vehicle, but does that hold up or are they just trying to discourage you from filing a claim ? I can't see how they can get away with damage...

What happened to your 25 AWD Hybrid that is in your profile ? Typo ?
  5. Another maverick hit in the rear.

I heard that there are a lot of hit & runs in Mexico. Is that true ? I've witnessed a few here also.
  6. CV Axle Replacement on 2023 Maverick XL EcoBoost @34k Miles

I have a 2023 AWD Eco. Are the CV axles suspect on those also ? I have 25K miles on the buggy and am wondering if I should expect failures on them too.
  7. Sideswiped a parked car and not even a year old!

VW's were great. A shade treee mechanic could work on them. I changed the oil in my parents VW's The darn thing didn't have a oil filter, but rather a oil screen to catch any boulders lol.

My MIL had a green Dodge Dart with very low miles. She drove it 5 miles to work & back. When she retired they sold it and bought a Buick, imagine that. At that time, my future wife had a Mercury Comet, which was the sister car of the Ford Maverick. I see that there are a few of them around for...
  13. Toff Bed-liner Installation on my Maverick: Before/After

I would say that is a pretty good price. I paid $495 for the factory spray 2 1/2 years ago so it hasn't gone up much in price with all the price gouging that has been going on since January of last year.

Interesting parallel. I'm sure you remember the oil embargo that lasted from October 1973 to March 1974 when you could hardly buy any gas. Long lines for the pumps could be seen for blocks. When I bought gas it was generally later on in the evening like 11PM when the crowds thinned out. It was a...

I remember when gas was 29.9. We have a 56 VW and it didn't have a fuel gauge. My dad would open the hood and put a dipstick in the fuel tank to check the fuel level lol. Back then you had to manually calculate your gas mileage or you were left on the side of the road. Luckilly that didn't...

WOW you really are a crazy car guy. You have had 77 vehicles since you were 16, but 48 of them have been new purchases. 29 of those 77 have been of the used variety. Buying used is always a roll of the dice. Did you do the inspections yourself or did you have a mechanic on retainer ?
