Someone was kind enough to create this. I participated; if you’re having problems, maybe you’d like to too.
Exactly.
I reported this a month ago. About a week later I told the first cust rep at Ford Corporate (she was quite polite and pleasant) I was not only concerned for my safety, but for the safety of unsuspecting owners who might find out the hard way, maybe tragically, that their Mavericks are...
How many people have you done this for and actually found something out? I know you were kind and competent getting my issues heard at HQ, but it’s been a non-stop mess ever since. Do you have substantive information for people like me who are about to divorce Ford, possibly forever?
It also happened to me immediately after a short trip after I put the car in park. In fact, that was the first time it happened, and my cat / manifold was glowing JUST like in that first post, if not worse.
I hope you’re being facetious… maybe Ford should include that in the owner’s manual for the 2023 Maverick Hybrids.
“Live in a cold climate? Build a garage. Live in a cold city? Build a parking garage.”
My gas mileage went down even more than that. It was about 20mpg over the 18miles leading up to the first event with my Mav.
Forgive me for repeating this, but I was told by my local service manager there’s a TSB on the way, maybe months, maybe a year or more away. In the meantime I was told...
I’ve made so much damn noise— all I was told, and get this, was that a TSB was on the way, possibly months, and up to a year+ away. I was offered nothing but the runaround. Our Official Ford media specialist here did a great job getting the ball rolling for me, but from there on the rest of Ford...
Grateful for your ear.
Unfortunately I was told nothing by the service department about what the tech learned, what the explanation might be, or receive any reassurance that collateral damage did not occur.
It’s to my understanding the field tech, who travelled a long way to investigate my...
My Mav is still sitting at the Ford serv dept after 3 weeks. They told me on Friday I can pick it up and drive it. Yet, it was only AFTER I told the serv manager that I wasn’t going to use FordPass or let that car warm up that she added to not let it idle in park… in February… in upstate NY...
I'm gonna mention that to my service dept. You might be one of the few people to have an engine light accompany your issue, if it's the same one we're all experiencing... which it sounds like it is. How has the repair gone? Any reoccurring symptoms?
It's me. I might tone down the title card, but... well... Ford hasn't exactly done a good job assuring me I didn't throw away $27K. I've heard you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, but I'm not sure it applies to this situation.
I agree, once is certainly enough, imo.
Today marks two weeks of my Mav living at the Ford serv dept. They’ve only been able to replicate it once— they’re waiting for the weather to get cold again. They want to hook it up to the scanners while it’s happening. They gave no information whatsoever...
Well, half the reason I got a hybrid Mav that supposedly gets 40+mpg in the city is to beat the miserable gas prices— if the car can’t run on 87 like every other 4cyl hybrid on Earth in the cold, why the heck did I buy this thing? It’s a rhetorical question you need not attempt to answer— but if...
Exactly the same conditions and experimental outcomes on my end. I'm also having the same thing with the billowing exhaust and extreme dripping under the middle of the car AND the tailpipe. My engine was similarly low in temperature when it happened the last few times... but it also did it...
Thanks for sharing your story--
I'm really hoping that's the end of your worries. The sulfur smell and the red hot glow in my engine is likely catalytic converter related, but I'm shade tree over here, at best. I’m under the impression new cars should not smell like sulphur, but I’ve heard some...
I'm not sure if you mean "we" are the middlemen, us here at the forum? But if you're saying what I think you're actually saying, yeah, I agree-- Ford should be informed directly by the dealer once the service dept figures out what's going on... even if that means they've gotta tell Ford HQ they...
Thanks Casanewt. I really want to make sure Ford gets the message sooner than later— not just for our sake as paying customers, but for the public’s safety, if it is indeed the fire hazard some of us perceive it to be.
Are you all able to see my vids easily? I uploaded them on my computer but...
