Just got a scratch on the center console down by the passenger footwell, when wiring up the dash cam. (Note to self: be more careful with the splicing pliers)
In kinda an out of the way area, so planning on trying buffing compound (for exterior polishing) on it. Figure it canāt make things look...
Got mine the other day. Overall build seems ok, but it sits quite loose in the cubby. To the point that even going over rough asphalt has made it vibrate enough for my phone to fall off.
Mabett you might want to check your dimensional QC.
Not sure. Before this one I had a 3D printed grid type one off Etsy that fit pretty tightly and took some effort to get back out. Maybe it āstretchedā out the cubby some?
Got mine Wednesday, holds the phone ok but it is a little too small for the cubby, so it rattles every bump or rough spot in the road. Going to try some stick on felt to wedge it in better.
Looks cool, but: way too expensive for us. Could buy 2-3 Mavs for one of these.
That swing away spare on the SUV would drive me crazy. Plus it swings to the wrong side for US (and most country's) road parking.
Mine is on back-order, I haven't had a magnetic phone holder before. I assume you need to stick a metal ring on the back of your phone for it? I've seen friends with that on their phones, my concern is when you upgrade to a newer phone can you get a new ring someplace to stick on the new phone...
Eh, Iāve gotten used to the dial, and itās miles better than the shifter my 2011 Prius had.
āLetās see, it was down and to the right for EV mode. down and to the left for drive? ā
And it was a stick/knob thing right in front of the HVAC control that was easily bumped.
I'd second Safelight, haven't had any problems with them. I did drop off my Maverick at a nearby Safelight shop when my windshield was cracked, not the mobile van. Not sure if there is any difference.
Just installed mine last weekend. Wasnāt too difficult, but I followed the advice of another MTC thread and loosely attached the metal brackets to the shield before mounting it. Makes it much easier and can align the little paint films better.
One word of warning: there are ZERO extra hardware...
Done to:
EGR hood guard.
āGrip tapeā over bottom of tailgate where the factory SIBL doesnāt cover. Was trying to be careful but already got some small scratches there.
Done with:
Various truck stuff, but only got photo of helping a relative move.
Havenāt had to replace the OEMs on my hybrid XL yet. Canāt complain about them, but havenāt driven them in really harsh winter conditions (NC).
Probably replace them with Continental Cross Contacts when the time comes. Had those on my previous CRV and the wifeās Highlander and were really happy...
