I think Ford should learn from this total misunderstanding and have two options next time:
Option 1 - open the order bank for those that want to pre-order a vehicle and participate in the roll out. These people would be willing to wait for the supply chain to iron out, the production process...
Perfect, thanks. One of the most useful things I found for the Ranger was the vehicle dimension sheet showing each configuration including the XL flatbed. It was conspicuously missing for the Mav. It sounds like it is still coming.

I am seeing drive reviews of the Santa Cruz already with the evaluators already claiming it's a better truck than the Maverick. Why? Because you get to drive that one? They claim it is even cheaper comparing the mid level SC to the Lariat Mav. Blahahaha... Seems it is difficult to get...
As for all I know Ford has not committed or explained anything. The only commitments and explanations are internet conjectures that are repeated in circles long enough that people believe it as truth.

I would just like to clarify the process just a bit because there are way too many misconceptions whipping people into a frenzy. I used to be involved in product launches at Ford some time ago and the process is likely to be following a similar system that was used when I was involved...
That is a good option and you save the 3 years of inflation on the amount financed. Even the 5 year 1.9% is free money with 'normal' inflation running 2-3% per year. By the time we bury 2021 I expect 6% this year. It actually saves us money to not pay cash.
