This is about my 20th Ford plus the hundreds Iāve rented. It was a fun post and yes both engines are great. One blows up or shuts off more, but thatās a different day. Of course the cluster isnāt accurate, thatās been true since the 80s, buts itās the reference we all use. Actual pump was 35mpg...
Thatās when I arrived. It was 97and 90% humidity when I left, the last hour it rained and the sun went down, so it cooled off a lot. I live in Chicago, itās been hot all week.

When you say "hot summer trip" are you referring to the temperature...
Thatās insane, glad itās working for you. Itās a work truck that gets driven a lot, mostly highway, so probably not as good of a fit. Plus the wait time to get one made it a no-go. My personal ride I might do a hybrid.
It would never see 42 with my usage. Itās always loaded with tools and equipment and all highway miles at 70+ mph. This was one of the lighter loads and admittedly slower speeds. Just ordered a 24 AWD to make winter driving a little better. The FWD has a bit of time laying down the power...
Itās loaded with 500-1000 pounds of tools and equipment daily and lives on the highway including Chicago winters. A hybrid I donāt think would return super high numbers in my case.
The dealer I went with for my 2024 order said mobile service needs 1.5-2 hours, so I scheduled it with them. The original dealer called back after canceling the appointment and apologized saying they didnāt know where the service department got their estimate from. They had told me they did...
True. I am almost all highway miles or suburban roads, very little city driving. The hybrid has its place for sure but given the recalls and issues with it along with the price hike, paying an extra $1500 for AWD and turbo is an easy choice for me. Just ordered a 24 AWD to go along with the FWD one.
Exactly. I just ordered a 24 with AWD. Between the recalls and issues with the hybrid, plus the price increase, it wasnāt worth it. $1,500 more for turbo power plus AWD was an easy decision.
For the airbag recall, dealer just called and after two weeks of ordering parts, they said they need it āfor at least two days, maybe 3ā. Does this really take that long or should I find someone else to do it?
