  1. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

This is about my 20th Ford plus the hundreds I’ve rented. It was a fun post and yes both engines are great. One blows up or shuts off more, but that’s a different day. Of course the cluster isn’t accurate, that’s been true since the 80s, buts it’s the reference we all use. Actual pump was 35mpg...
  2. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

That’s when I arrived. It was 97and 90% humidity when I left, the last hour it rained and the sun went down, so it cooled off a lot. I live in Chicago, it’s been hot all week. QUOTE="reneau, post: 635641, member: 21178"] When you say "hot summer trip" are you referring to the temperature...
  3. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

    That seemed a bit ā€œoptimisticā€.
  4. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

That’s insane, glad it’s working for you. It’s a work truck that gets driven a lot, mostly highway, so probably not as good of a fit. Plus the wait time to get one made it a no-go. My personal ride I might do a hybrid.
  5. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

It would never see 42 with my usage. It’s always loaded with tools and equipment and all highway miles at 70+ mph. This was one of the lighter loads and admittedly slower speeds. Just ordered a 24 AWD to make winter driving a little better. The FWD has a bit of time laying down the power...
  6. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

It’s loaded with 500-1000 pounds of tools and equipment daily and lives on the highway including Chicago winters. A hybrid I don’t think would return super high numbers in my case.
  7. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

Yea, it’s been great. Hauls a lot of tools and equipment and lives on the highway. Just ordered a 24 AWD one.
  8. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

Work truck that sees about 100 miles a day. It was a year old yesterday.
  9. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

For sure, they all have their place. It’s a work truck so it’s always loaded and on the highway. They are both great for their intended uses.
  10. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

It was more of a fun post but your idea of driving like a bat outta hell must be different than mine. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
  11. Airbag recall - how long?!

The dealer I went with for my 2024 order said mobile service needs 1.5-2 hours, so I scheduled it with them. The original dealer called back after canceling the appointment and apologized saying they didn’t know where the service department got their estimate from. They had told me they did...
  12. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

I put 300K miles on a Ranger and this is so true. It was a 2.5 4cyl with the stick and it was dog slow but never needed anything.
  13. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

It is, this was more of a fun post. I’m glad the hybrid exists, now they just need an AWD one if they ever work the kinks out of the hybrid.
  14. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

True. I am almost all highway miles or suburban roads, very little city driving. The hybrid has its place for sure but given the recalls and issues with it along with the price hike, paying an extra $1500 for AWD and turbo is an easy choice for me. Just ordered a 24 AWD to go along with the FWD one.
  15. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

Exactly. I just ordered a 24 with AWD. Between the recalls and issues with the hybrid, plus the price increase, it wasn’t worth it. $1,500 more for turbo power plus AWD was an easy decision.
  16. Who needs a hybrid anyways?!

Hot summer trip from Chicago to Wisconsin with about 300 pounds of tools. ā€˜22 XL Ecoboost FWD
  17. Airbag recall - how long?!

figured as much. Same dealer that called me on order day and told me $5K over sticker.
  18. Airbag recall - how long?!

That’s what I assumed. When I first scheduled it, they said it would be a few hours.
  19. Airbag recall - how long?!

For the airbag recall, dealer just called and after two weeks of ordering parts, they said they need it ā€œfor at least two days, maybe 3ā€. Does this really take that long or should I find someone else to do it?
  20. 2024 special order over MSRP

Same here and I’ve ordered two 2022s from them already. It all worked out though.
