  1. 4K Tow Recall

I dropped my Maverick off yesterday morning for a minor adjustment. They attempted the 4K Towing safety recall update while they had it. It failed. My Maverick is now a brick. It will be interesting to see where this goes from here.
  2. Safety Recall Glitch

I got a rental this afternoon; a Nissan Frontier from Enterprise. It can be left at the dealership when no longer needed. The dealer said they'd pay for that today and tomorrow. This may lead to further discussion with the dealer. After all, I did drive a functional Maverick into their property...
  3. Insurance and safety features

All that safety equipment costs so much more to fix when you fail or the safety equipment fails!
  4. Safety Recall Glitch

I took my AWD FX4 XLT-Lux with the 4K Towing Pkg to the dealer for a minor adjustment yesterday morning. While there, they performed a 'software update' to the towing package as a safety recall. It went South. Now my Maverick is inoperative at the dealer. As we near the end of the second day...
  5. Not seeing Mavericks in the wild... why not? How about your community?

I finally saw one Monday, blue, turned left about 500 yards ahead of me. It's the ONLY other one I've seen in Arizona.
  6. Fuel economy at 80-85 mph

Mythbusters did an extensive review (not with the Maverick, obviously) of pickups with tailgate up and down and found their test subjects had less wind resistance and got slightly better mileage with the tailgate closed.
  7. Fuel economy at 80-85 mph

We've only made one highway drive with our 2.0 AWD FX4 XLT - from our home in SE Mesa to Wickenburg, AZ and back -- 210 miles total. We averaged 68 mph moving speed overall, which meant we were driving 80 mph or a bit better at least some of the time. When on cruise, it was set at 77 mph. Our...
  8. Thread is dead, move along

Nope. My 16 ounce Wally World Ozark Trails bottle is too big for any of the Maverick's cup holders. I have a sand-bag-weighted fabric box on the floor behind the console. That works, but I agree--the cup holders are the worst feature of the Maverick.
  9. My Maverick XLT build inspired by Mach 1

Love, love, love it. I especially like the wizard in the cubby. Just what that hole was made for! Your Maverick is equipped pretty much like mine. How are the side moldings attached? A 3-M style adhesive strip? And if I may be so bold as to ask, how much did they cost?
  10. Not seeing Mavericks in the wild... why not? How about your community?

In Mesa, AZ. I see new Broncos and Bronco Sports on every drive. eMach Mustangs at every stoplight. I've never seen another Maverick anywhere. When I took delivery, January 20th, everyone at the dealership was swarming it 'cause it was the only one they'd ever seen.
  11. I have probably the first Maverick "Rattler"!! Tons of rattles

I think my XLT is, so far, the quietest vehicle I've ever owned. No rattles, and 63dBA sound level on a good road (radio and AC off, windows up). My '11 Mitsubishi Outlander was 74dBA under the same conditions.
  12. First problem with my Maverick XLT

Over the weekend I tried my windshield washers and found that the driver's side wiper only cleaned a 2" arc at about eye level. It simply wasn't touching the glass anywhere else. Examining the wiper I found it to be a one-piece molded unit, rubber over what seems to be a steel spine, that was...
  13. FITS System availability

That website tells me, “Not availble in Arizona or Oklahoma.” WTF, over?
  14. FITS System availability

Thanks, I’ll check there. My dealer told me this afternoon they weren’t available for purchase.
  15. Longest Wait Time From Confirmed Order to Delivery

    I ordered mine June 8, 2021 and took delivery January 20, 2022.
  16. FITS System availability

So, as an EcoBoost XLT owner, I can’t BUY a FITS kit? Strange. What comes in the FITS kit, anyway?
  17. FITS System availability

OK. I ordered mine in June, took delivery January 20, 2022. Original estimate was “fall, 2021.” Sounds like my EcoBoost model was delayed, too.
  18. FITS System availability

So, my dealer is telling me that the FITS kits are only available for the Hybrid Maverick. I got the 2.0 EcoBoost and did not get a FITS kit.
  19. My truck bed aux power has no current / voltage

You do know there’s only 110v power available when the engine is running, right?
  20. 3 things i hate about the maverick.

Push to start has to be cheaper to build than a key-operated ignition switch. My cheap 2011 Mitsubishi had push to start and true keyless entry.
