  1. Audio System No Longer Indexes All the Songs on My Thumbdrive

It only allows a few songs to be indexed if you are moving and it is slow at the best of times. The good news is it exists at all.
  2. Tapping rear speakers for sub question

I think I need to say a a bit more. I'm an amateur audiophile and engineer with 40+ years of experience modifying audio devices to get the sound I want. I have never had a vehicle that I have not tweeked the audio in some way to improve the sound. When I ordered my Maverick over a year ago and...
  3. Tapping rear speakers for sub question

I did do a frequency sweep with a spectrum analyzer and the response did drop off below 150 hz in the rear speakers. Most subs are set to filter out frequencies above 80 hz.
  4. Tapping rear speakers for sub question

The rear speakers have the base blocked so it is not a good option for running the sub.
  5. Ethanol free gas worth it?

I did the calcs on my Honda hybrid a few years ago and the non ethanol came out with 13 percent better milage. It was cost effective at that time to use it.
  6. I think the base stereo sounds good...

The base stereo is more than just fine. It is really good. I love the fact that I can stream Spotify and I Heart Radio. It also has a good interface for my thumb drive. The amp is quite powerful. Enough for everything except earsplitting volumes. The controls for moving the sound stage and tone...
  7. Video: Summer Heat Hybrid MPG Loss Explained

I first noticed an mpg drop with our Honda Accord Hybrid. It drops the efficiency of the a/c in eco mode to the point that we never put it in eco. I charted it, did calculations and came to the conclusion that 15 percent of fuel was used to keep the passengers cool in the summer, here in...
  8. Shuttering vibration (2.5 Hybrid)

I have had it happen. Not consistent enough to take it to the dealer. There is something weird going on with the braking system.
  9. Yakima cab racks for canoes/kayak

The plastic was reamed out so the rivnut is only fastened the the metal underneath. The drop in bedliner got in the way underneath. You could use a simple nut underneath but I wanted it easy to remove. If you removed the plastic rail you could optimize the location of the hole and make sure you...
  10. Yakima cab racks for canoes/kayak

I did not remove the plastic rail. Just drilled though it. I hope you can get it off.
  11. Yakima cab racks for canoes/kayak

I used rivet nuts into the bed rail and bolted into the nuts. The rails are plastic honeycomb but there is metal underneath it.
  12. Canoe canoe?

The tie point and tow point under the front bumper is a 1" hole in the sub frame. It is a little difficult to get to.
  13. Spray-In Bed Liner - Recommendations?

I'd look at Bullet liners. Especially the color matched options.
  14. The Mav Hybrid Off-Highway in CO. (New Sept Pics)

I recently visited Colorado but left the Mav at home. Rented a Jeep through Turo and drove Saint John's pass from Keystone to Breckenridge. Well worth the $120 rental fee. I don't regret saving the Mav for more tame adventures.
  15. crossover for tweeter

The wiring for the tweeters comes directly from the head unit (acm). You would need to run new wires from the doór to the tweeters if you wanted to use the component system's crossover. I opted not to use the crossover. It sounds góod. Ford must be doing something to cross over the signals. When...
  16. Crutchfield research on the non B&O system incoming...

Not my experience. The tweeters are wired directly from the head unit. The crossover is part of the head unit. I will check it out when I get a chance but I installed the Infinity reference without their crossover and it is obvious the components were carefully crossed somehow. I am sure the...
  17. Fixed-Point Roof Racks (Yakima Landing Pads, Rails, etc.)

The best option I have seen is to rivet nut through the roof inside the moulding. Take out the door seal and bend down the headliner enough so you can see where the cross beams are so you drill through two layers of steel and maybe even get a nut under there. I used landing pads placed without...
  18. Kayak rack options

Look at bed racks on ebay. I bought one for $100. You don't need j-racks. Just strap the yak to the rack with a cam strap. Having the rear crossbar at the back makes it easy to load. It's written up somewhere on this site. Bow and Stern lines optional.
  19. Thoughts on Drop in Bedliner?

Don't think it will work like that. You will see. I installed two cubbies, the dibl does not seal to the bed.
