I am thinking that the roof deserves some kind of low profile rails. Audi does it well.

Someone will come up with something for the Maverick. It needs to look good and be aerodynamically quiet .
I want adaptive cruise control and lane centering like I have with my Honda Accord. I ordered the copilot on my xl thinking it was those features. Come to find out you need to order the Lariat with the lux package at 10k premium to get that.
Thinking about the hybrid drive train and towing. It is the long steep grades that will stress it.
Battery depleted and still climbing, all you have is a 2.5 liter engine hauling your load. And if it is at altitude, even less power. No manual transmission to gear down and just go slow over the...
The hybrid should be great for towing. No mechanical clutch, regenerative braking and no hydraulic transmission. I do expect it to bog down on long uphills when the battery is depleted.
Nissan has the utilitrack which is similar. I saw a video of it used to mount bike racks. I saw something similar on a Tacoma as well. The owner had a quick connect ladder rack he used to transport a canoe.
This is one of the great advantages of a hybrid. You can ride the brakes and all you are doing is charging the battery not wearing out the brake pads or burning them up. This is especially advantageous when towing. No more smoking brakes.
This will be my third Hybrid. The first two were Honda Accords which my wife drove. The new one gets 40 mpg and is not a small car. The power and performance has been quite adequate.
I am looking to take advantage of the Maverick's relatively low cab height 66-68" by reports. It is about the same as my Subaru Forester. A ladder rack would only be a couple of feet off the rails and it should be easy to handle loading a boat up there for an adult. Much easier than an F150 or...
I did some experimenting with our Honda Accord hybrid. The e85 fuel gave about 7 percent worse fuel economy. Not using the a/c saved close to 15 percent. On my Forester it made no difference.
My Forester has 3 feet of spread on the cross bars and I regularly carry a 16 foot kayak without bow or stern straps. I was thinking I need a cross bar on the roof but maybe not.
I enjoyed watching the videos on the videos on the ecvt and the duratec engine. it gave me comfort that I made the right decision to order my hybrid and it should last. It seems like a well thought out and practical system. I drive an f150 for work every day and have driven Ford trucks almost...
I have my Maverick on order. The first order of business when I get it is to install a rack. My sport is kayaking and I haul around a 16 foot boat. and sometimes 2 or 3. Currently. I drive a Subaru Forester with extendable Thule cross bars with detachable j cradles. I am hoping that Ford has...
