  1. 2 months 2,500 miles and it's dead

How does a bad starter leave the truck completely dead with no power to the dash etc? I cannot understand what failure mode of a starter would do this. It also implies that if you are driving down the freeway and your starter fails like this, you are going to be coasting and praying all the...
  2. Coolant leak

Check engine light, missing coolant. It could be the heat exchanger. Possible replacement program coming, this letter just started going out in Canada apparently
  3. Be thankful for the Mav Hybrid Power

Your Mav has a little 4-cylinder 162HP engine. The CRV Hybrid makes more combined HP than the Maverick. Maybe you should be checking with the Honda dealer to make sure everything is OK.
  4. Negotiated the extended warranty

You got a 3rd party warranty, and only 5 years?? Alrighty then
  5. Extended Warranty Advice

Do not buy a 3rd party or a dealer or auto group warranty. Only buy a manufacturer extended warranty, in your case a Ford factory extended warranty. And buy the top of the line version, do not skimp. Getting it from Granger is a no-brainer.
  6. Transmission Leaks & Vibration Under Acceleration

You may be right, acording to this: https://www.ford.com/cmslibs/content/dam/brand_ford/en_us/brand/resources/general/pdf/warranty/2022-Ford-Car-Lt-Truck-Hybrid-Warranty-version-2_frdwa_EN-US_12_2020.pdf
  7. Transmission Leaks & Vibration Under Acceleration

If it were my truck, I would swap the CV axles myself - starting with only the driver side and see if that fixed the shaking, and only do the passenger side if it still persists... then sell that truck asap. Unless the trans is leaking big time, no way I am cracking it open to go on a fishing...
  8. Are Mavericks Lemons?

There is a serious problem with CV joints on these hybrids. Anyone planning to keep it past warranty expiration should start boning up now on the shade tree replacement procedure. Any of you cool-kid Youtubers who have an ounce of sense, will make a video showing the procedure now. Whoever...
  9. It's Happening. NHTSA 23V380

    And then what happened??
  10. Engine fire recall

^^^ This exactly. No software update will cure what ails an engine that is destined to fail from faulty parts or assembly.
  11. It's Happening. NHTSA 23V380

Don't get your hopes up - I doubt the software update fixes the engine problem. Likely all it does is make sure you don't try to keep driving when the engine creates a new inspection port. Perhaps they trigger a shutdown based on a sudden oil pressure drop. The goal being to try to prevent a...
  12. Engine running WITH THE IGNITION OFF AND KEY REMOVED

Egggggggxactly. It is an asinine proposition that this would be an intentional design feature. Key off means engine off - period, end of story. If that doesn't happen, then you have a serious perhaps lethal problem on your hands. No, the first rule of Hybrid is don't kill people. It is...
  13. Low speed wheel to curb impact = Nearly 3 months of shop time and likely transmission replacement?

I am pretty sure that 95% of those that have been replaced showed no visible damage. These CV axles are failing in a way that is not normal wear and tear failure that you find on 100k-200k mile axles. They are not failing due to torn boots or having all the grease flung away. There is some...
  14. Low speed wheel to curb impact = Nearly 3 months of shop time and likely transmission replacement?

How specifically did they rule out the CV Axle as the problem? You would not be the first person here to be told by a dealer service dept that "it is not the CV axle" only to find out later that yes, yes it was...
  15. Maverick Hybrid Died on Freeway this Morning - Completely Unanticipated

Ford should be instructing dealers to contact all customers who had the software updates done in the affected time window. URGENTLY. They are driving Zombie vehicles and many will find out the hard way, some harder than others.
  16. Maverick Hybrid Died on Freeway this Morning - Completely Unanticipated

Probably not targeted at the Hybrid then, if it also affects Bronco. More likely an Ecoboost recall which still leaves all these Hybrid owners to play the "when will my rig die and maybe take me with it" game.
