What is unique to Ford is this Verified Purchaser program. Making people provide their info and for many also a deposit, in order for the dealer to make an order (at an agreed upon price) that the dealer otherwise could not make for themselves. Then after 6 to 9 months of freezing the customer...

I'm starting to think that ordering a hybrid was a mistake for my household. I want a car that can occasionally sit for 4 - 8 weeks and still start when it is needed - and it sounds like a Hybrid isn't that.

All of those procedures presume you have a working battery and electrical system. So what happens if you don't - what is the pure mechanical procedure to get the car into neutral for towing?

Hello all you Maverick fans! I got a chance to crawl around a demo XLT Hybrid today. I took some shots of the less interesting or less glamorous places - unless you are a ratchet head like me :) It was interesting to see that the bottom of the vehicle is nearly fully covered with panels...

Can anyone confirm what an order number looks like? I was given a number like D5XX, which seemed a little short. I am not sure if this is just a local dealer assigned tracking number or really a Ford issued number. Any insight would be appreciated, thank you!

It will be neat to see a graph when someone can finally strap one to a chassis dyno. It would be even neater if Ford would just give it up already :)
