You mean the "compressor" not the condenser! Yes the compressor is electric and uses 3 phase for efficiency and is a variable speed device.
The condenser is a radiator like device that is cooled by air flow and
"condenses the refrigerant from a gas back to a liquid.
Questionable in a couple areas; the one I would worry about is losing the warranty.
However, I'd be really PO'd if someone charged me $150 for a piece of pipe and a terrible "puddle and burn" weld job. Just think what it must look like on the other side
I’m rather tired of hearing the Maverick called a “trucklet”❗️🤨 it is a small truck compared to some of the huge trucks around, but it is the same size essentially as the 2006 Colorado I retired and bought the Maverick. It serves the purpose of a truck
So please don’t demean it by calling it...
I have about 800 miles on my 2024 hybrid. I’m not patient enough to wait for a whole tank of gas to run through so I’ve been filling up at the half tank level.
My trips are also 5 to 10 miles maybe three or four times a week and 1 50 mile trip one day a week. The longer trip gets the best...
I believe the mesh will significantly reduce air flow through the ac and radiator.
Watch carefully for overheating and reduced ac performance.
The mesh blocks an amazing amount of area, and the small openings reduce the flow further.
What range of mpg are you seeing under various load conditions on your instantaneous mpg readout?
Your IC engine must be running nearly all the time; you are in eco mode , correct?
Whoever at the dealer told you that is either nuts, or stupid- and maybe both!o_O
I have a light foot and slow down gradually to take advantage of the regen braking; I am averaging 50 mpg.
ECO mode puts the drivetrain in electric sooner on level road or coasting and will keep it there slightly...
2lbgill,
Where do you think the electricity that’s recaptured through braking came from in the first place?
I suppose if you started at the top of pikes Peak within empty battery and an empty gas tank and let the Maverick coast down the mountain you would have a partially charged traction...
Yes, it is "gas" mileage; gasoline provides the energy to make the electricity in the hybrid. Some of that electricity is recovered, but it all comes from the engine converting gasoline to "power" .
I removed mine also, they did block part of the rear view- especially to the side/rear.
If I ever have need for a passenger in the rear seat, I have them under the seat and can install quickly enough.
Would be nice if the outer ones were the same small size as the center, it causes no vision...
Perhaps because both are relatively small in terms of power? Less combined horsepower than the 2006 Colorado that I swapped for the Maverick hybrid.
I ordered the hybrid without having driven a maverick of any kind so yes, I was pleasantly surprised❗️😉
Oscarcat, You are correct. I tried the motions related to opening the door. And if you use your arm to help push the door open, you almost in invariably rotate your hand against the door lock.
I had never paid any attention to the fact that that was a door lock in fact it is so well blended and...
