What can be done? Wait for spring. My normal 49mpg dropped to 46 for the last couple months. Since its almost spring here in NC, I'm back up to 49.
Temperature and gas formulation are the likely culprits.
Perhaps the windshield was peppered with sand during transport. Sounds like you got a lemon. Trade it for something better if you can find it. Or test drive another similar Maverick and convince yourself that they are not all this "bad". JMHO.
70 mph + does not help; but the bigger culprit is use of cruise control- ICE is on more maintaining preset speed with less "coasting". I believe you proved this on your trip. Temp may have some effect but way less than use of cruise. Just my experience from my own driving my 2024 hybrid XL.
It may be a compact truck, but it is as large as previous generation of "pickup trucks"!
It is a great size for many people, but why call it a trucklet?
Maverick brakes require "finesse", they are not like "regular' brakes. I believe anyone that doesn't drive the Maverick full time and becomes accustomed to the brakes, is going to have a problem with "touchy" compared with their normal vehicle.
Folks that wait till the last second to apply...
Yes, that is basically how it is done. This topic has been beat to death on this forum, so a simple search would have helped you.
Better yet, get out you manual and read the section dedicated to battery replacement!
The
Maverick traded a 6ft bed for the extra row of seats!
A Maverick is larger in dimensions than the F100 up till 1960, only trading bed length for passenger seats.
I guess it depends on which "full" size you compare it with , the old model T pickup, or the 1950's F-100 ?
It would be interesting to compare the dimensions of either or both, anyone have them?
So much for a "thorough evaluation" - guys seldom find problems in their own work!
Just shoddy or rushed install on the audio guy- or did he not touch the battery itself?
It is kind of obvious that the audio upgrade was not done correctly and is the problem.
Have the installer disconnect every wire he added and the problem will likely go away.
Then go to to a different installer!
Add one gallon before you leave.
Take an empty gas can with you and buy 1 gallon of cheap gas in AZ; put it in you vehicle after you return to LV.
"Savings" problem solved!
Buy 5 gallons if you have a large container and save even more.
I normally get 640-680 miles per tank, I'm in NC . Mostly non highway driving.
A mileage average for 5000 miles of about 48; that's calculated mileage; if you have not adjusted your mileage calculation bias, you may be off by 4-5% in the negative direction.
48 x 13.5 = 648 miles per tank...
