I’m not a fan of additives. Most of the gasoline additives are just isopropyl alcohol to help sequester water. So if you find non-alcholol gasoline, you have less problems to start with.
If someone stated previously, you really need to get the new fuel or the treated fuel throughout the system...
Yes, in a perfect world nobody would have to use a trickle charger but with the low number of miles that the OP drives he doesn’t drive enough to keep his battery charged. A rough calculation of 30 minutes a week would equal less than half of the miles that you have put on your truck Since you...
I'd have to think about the battery issue, what temperature range will the Maverick see during the winter?
On the gas, I'd switch to non-ethanol gas 3 tanks or so before you leave, and leave the tank essentially full of 100% non-ethanol gasoline.
A 30 minute drive once a week will not keep your battery charged. Use of the trickle charger is the correct solution given your use/service profile.
An AGM battery will improve your situation, but not completely solve it.
My '24 hybrid now has an agm battery, I drive a little more than you do...
Disconnect the wire that goes to the magnetic clutch. If you don't want to have to raise the hood every time, install a switch in the cabin and wires to the clutch wire.
Then you have complete control !
(This won't work on a hybrid- it doesn't have an engine driven compressor)
The answers are: no, yes, the AC does not run all the time only when it is programmed to run. But then I have an XL, which being basic may operate differently from higher trim levels.
I only use manual mode, or off.
Then you didn’t understand my suggestion, just set it for ambient temperature, which is what you said you wanted.
This is really a first world problem.❗️😜
No need to get snarky. It sounds like you have a personal problem with the way your truck is designed to work so either live with it or keep complaining.
Why do you believe this is a problem? If you don't need cooling the AC will shut down as soon as the computer(s) figure out the Temperature/Humidity parameters.
