My worry is Ford may be trying to fix a bigger engineering defect with software. Have experienced this with other Ford products, such as the 3.5L Ecoboost cold start rattle. Software solution that kinda masks something, then we are paying to have the big $ overhaul after the warranty runs out.

I’m sure there are complex things for them to juggle… but at some level trying to steer customers towards dealers that have terrible policies and have abused customers in these market conditions isn’t a good look.
